Eustolia (Neddy) Martinez went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday March 15, 2012 at Brian’s House with her family by her side age 74 years.  Daughter of the late Manual & Simona (Cortez) Sanchez she was born November 11, 1937 in D’Hanis, Texas.  Neddy will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be truly missed.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, was an avid reader and was the biggest Elvis Presley fan.  Neddy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved them all very dearly.

Surviving are her 9 children: Rose (Allan) Napieralski, Rick (Cindy) Martinez, Raul (Marty) Martinez, Veronica (Ken) Rooker, Lisa (Andy) McPhee, Joe Martinez, Al (Helen) Martinez, Henry Martinez, Troy Martinez, 26 grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.  Also surviving are three sisters: Thelma Guzman, Vicky (Earl) Burk, Maria (Fred) Cavazos and many nieces and nephews.  She was  predeceased by a son: Paul Martinez Jr. and three brothers and a sister.

Funeral Service will take place Tuesday March 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Sr. Joann Plumpe will officiate with private inurnment in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Ory James Bradley was called home to be with The Lord Jesus Christ late Tuesday night of an unexpected illness at 23 years of age.  He was born in Saginaw, Michigan January 10, 1989 to Gerald Bradley Jr. and Kathleen (Ballard) Bradley.  Surviving besides his parents is his brothers: Gerald (Kerri) Bradley III, Eric (Holly Eichorn) Bradley, baby sister: April Bradley and the love of his life, Jordan Capp.  Also surviving is his grandparents: Gerald & Marie Bradley, Kathleen Ballard, Rose Ballard and his great-grandmother: Doris Birch.  He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends who loved him very much, as well as his family at New Testament Bethel Church where he was an active member and the church drummer.  He was predeceased by his grandfather: Roy Ballard Sr.  A special thanks to Uncle Roy Bradley and Uncle Dusty Ballard for all their love and support and to the staff at McLaren Bay Region for their care and support during Ory’s stay.  Ory was attending Delta College to pursue a degree in creative writing.  The family would like to note that they are proud of his accomplishments and how he came back from a worldly way to a life of God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Roy McAlpine passed away Thursday March 8, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region age 89 years.  Son of the late Earl T. & Hazel C. (Kramer) McAlpine he was born March 24, 1922 in Fairgrove, MI.  He married the former Laura Hess on June 7, 1947.  She predeceased him April 6, 1994.  Mr. McAlpine served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in the Asian Pacific Theater during WWII.  Roy retired from Short Freight Line.  He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, the American Legion Post #18 and Saginaw Valley Traffic Club.  Roy enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are five children: Susan (Clark) Rowe, Douglas (Carol) McAlpine, Ann (James) Schumacher, Wayne (Deb) McAlpine, Jane Lockhart, 8 grandchildren: Michelle (Mike) Cotter, William Michael (Heather) Leveille, Michael (Cameron) Schumacher, Betsy Schumacher, Thomas Schumacher, Adam McAlpine, Kate McAlpine & her fiancé Evan Griffiths, William Lockhart and three great-grandchildren: Jack & Macey Cotter and Evan Leveille.  Also surviving is a sister in-law: Eileen McAlpine, two brother’s in-law: William Hess, Neil (Wilda) Hess and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by three brothers: Robert (Dorothy), Conrad and Calvin McAlpine.

Funeral Service will take place Monday March 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Pastor Matthew Schramm will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Aurora passed away at her home on Saturday February 25, 2012 with her family by her side age 81 years.  She was born April 18, 1930 in Mathis, TX.  Aurora was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church.  She was a homemaker, an avid gardener, seamstress and enjoyed her leisure walks.

Aurora is survived by her husband, Anatolio (Tony) Martinez of 29 years whom she married December 10, 1982.  Also surviving is her children: Raynalda Metzger, Lee (Mary Ann) Aguilar, Albert Aguilar, Lynda Brady, John Aguilar, Alicia (Richard) Urbane, Mary Burgess, Nancy Aguilar (Jim) and Jerry Aguilar.  Her stepchildren: Daniel (Julie) Martinez, Gilbert (Kathy) Martinez, Olga Martinez and Olivia Martinez.  She was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.  Aurora is also survived by three sisters, two brothers, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends.  She was predeceased by her parents, one brother: Juan Cardeans, a sister: Romano Morena and a step son: Michael Martinez.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Maria Goretti Church.  Presiding over the funeral rite will be Fr. William Taylor and Sr. Virginia Scally SNDdeN with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Maria Goretti Church Memorial Fund.

Bay City, Michigan

                Mrs. Matuszewski passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Brian’s House with her family at her side.

Age 86.  Virginia was born on November 10, 1925 in Bay City to the late Harold J. and Mary M. (Ryczek) Jonkis.  She was united in marriage to Anthony F. Matuszewski in November of 1948.  They celebrated 57 wonderful years together before he predeceased her in September of 2005.  A lifelong resident of Bay City Virginia was a devoted, loving, and cherished daughter, wife and mother.

          She is survived by her daughters, Rosemary (Richard) Lawrence of Caldwell, Idaho; Mary Matuszewski of Bay City; Kathleen (Mark) Seckinger of Marysville, Ohio; one sister LaDonna (Robert) DePrekel and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  Along with her parents she was predeceased by her sister Margaret (Florian) Janowicz; and a brother Robert (Loretta) Jonkis.

          The family would like to thank the angels of One West at Bay Medical Care Facility and Brian’s House for their compassionate care for Virginia.

          Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 with Sister Mary Epple RSM officiating at the Squires Funeral Home and private burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.  Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the wishes of Virginia’s family.

Bay City, Michigan

     Alma passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Brittany Manor in Midland, age 101.  She was born November 27, 1910 on Monitor Township to the late William and Mary M. (Pfundt) Quintel.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 8 Mile Road.

     Surviving is two brothers, Norman and Edgar Quintel and two sisters, Lydia Kuntsman and Hulda (Emil) Weiss.  Alma was predeceased by six brother and sisters: Clara, Ida, Adolph, John, Erna and Meta.

     The Funeral Service and Committal Rite will be held Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5545 8 Mile Road.  Rev. David Sherry will officiate and private interment will be in Lutheran Home Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church only on Thursday from 10:00am until the time of services.
