Burzynski pic940Mrs. Joan Burzynski, age 77, passed away the evening of Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Bay Medical Care Facility.  She was born June 8, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Joseph and Francis Marie (Englehart) LaBelle.  Joan married her late husband James Burzynski on August 22, 1964 and he preceded her in death on April 8, 2014.  Mrs. Burzynski was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a member of the League of Catholic Men and Women.

Joan was known by her family and others to be a graceful, kind, caring, and compassionate woman of deep faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother.  She enjoyed doing needlepoint, baking, singing, and reading suspense novels by her favorite author, James Patterson.  She was an avid card player, too.  Some of her favorite card games included Euchre, Gin Rummy, King’s Corner, and Pinochle.  She also enjoyed gardening and completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku.  Joan wrote in her journal daily and leaves behind many personal thoughts, stories, and memories for her children and grandchildren to cherish.

Surviving are her children:  David Burzynski, Theodore (Dee-dee) Burzynski, Daniel (Debbie) Burzynski and Andrea Dereszynski; grandchildren:  James Burzynski, Collette Dereszynski, Candee and Robert Poirier, Nella Kline, and Olivia Giannandrea; two brothers and one sister, Jim (Virginia), Tom (Mary) LaBelle, and Linda (John) Buda; and brother-in-law, Fred Meyers.  Joan was predeceased by her three sisters and two brothers, Evelyn DeMetrick, Pat Meyers, Shirley Douglas, William and Donald LaBelle.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 11, 2017 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1503 Kosciusko Ave., Bay City, Michigan.  Fr. Rick Filary will preside and interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church after 9:00 a.m.   A Parish Vigil Service for Joan will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials in Joan’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation.

    So sorry to hear of Joan’s loss, but also celebrating with her to move to a better place where she will be reunited with those who have gone before her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
