Kathleen A. Weiss (Brady)

weiss-photo945Our loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend Kathy A. Weiss was called home by her Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family, age 67.  She was born May 14, 1950 in Bay City to the late Donald J. and Zita E. (Langley) Brady.  Kathy married Leslie Weiss on April 5, 1975 and they were blessed with over 42 years of marriage.  She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, reading, going to the casino and living in the house where she was raised.  Kathy’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, she was always putting her family first and loved their yearly vacations.

 

Surviving is her husband Les, she leaves five children;  Jeffrey Weiss, Shannon (Paul) Monville, Donielle Weiss, Colleen Weiss, Amanda Weiss & her fiance John Dereszynski and seven grandchildren;  Brianna, Drake, Cole, Cuinn, Gage, Cayden, Sebastian and Philip.  Also surviving are six brothers and two sisters;  Jim (Teri) Brady, Donald (Cheryl) Brady, Randy (MaryBeth) Brady, Bernie (Barb) Brady, Anne (Jack) Taylor, Mike (Peggy) Brady, Matt (Peggy) Brady, Mary (Ed) Heinlein, one sister-in-law, Lynda Brady, two aunts;  Bernie Ricard, Viola Schroeder and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Brady and a sister, Theresa Brady.

 

Funeral service will take place on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor Joe Atchinson will officiate with private burial in the Great Lakes National Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home located at 211 North Henry, Bay City, MI 48706 on Friday from 12 noon until

6:00 P.M. service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Frank V. Morzinski “Cowboy”

Frank passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Carriage House of Bay City, age 91. He was born May 21, 1926 in Bay City to the late Frank and Josephine Morzinski. He married Noreen R. Peters on May 26, 1945 and she predeceased him on November 24, 2014. Frank retired from Wirt Transport after many years of service and was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. He loved to golf whenever it was possible.

Surviving are two sons, Randy (Connie) Morzinski and Frank (Judy) Morzinski, Jr., four grandchildren: Sarah (Dan) Hodge, Heath, Yancey and Frank R. Morzinski, four great grandsons: Parker Hodge, Andrew, Alex, and Brandon Morzinski, one sister Patricia Bowden and a sister in-law Joan Butterfield. Frank was predeceased by a son Bobby Morzinski.

The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Ambrose Funeral Home. Sue Roznowski will officiate and private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to McLaren Hospice.

Christina E. Rakus

Rakus, age 48, was welcome home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 13, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born February 6, 1969 in Akron, Ohio to the late Charles L. Sr. and Karen L. (DePeal) Brannon.  Christina had a true passion for arts and crafts.  She enjoyed horse, dogs, her bird, camping and going 4 wheeling.  Surviving are three children, Dana Tune; Travis and Sarah Stiehl; four grandchildren, Daniel and Noah Longoria; Morgen Tune; Joseph Richards; and her fiancé, Tom Johnson.  Also surviving is one sister, Tammy (Gary) Tune; and two brothers, Charles Lee Brannon Jr. and Tommy Lee (Tammy) Brannon.  She was predeceased by a sister, Pam Laskowski.  Cremation has taken place and their will be no services at the funeral home.

Patricia A. Toporski

toporski-photo943Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend,  was called home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region surrounded by her family, age 86.  She was born September 2, 1931 in Bay City to the late Stanley and Josephine (Tomaszewski) Rasmer.  Pat married Gerald S. Toporski on November 21, 1953 at St. Stanislaus Church.  He predeceased her February 21, 1988.  She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church, the Altar-Rosary  Sodality, St. Stephen K of C Ladies Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabella, League of Catholic Women and Men, the Bishop Gallagher Circle #605 and the St. Stan’s Senior Citizens.  Pat was an organizer of the funeral breakfast for St. Hyacinth and was a very patriotic person.  She often would play cards with her card party friends, including (Washington Tea).  Pat truly loved spending time with her family and friends, especially she liked her “birthday work bees”.   Surviving are four children; Pamela (Gerald) Cass; John G. (Mary Jo) Toporski; Joel P. (Denise) Toporski; Janelle Tacey and Jeffrey Hale; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Toporski; Jennifer, Jonathan, Joshua, Jessica Cass; Courtney Tacey and Cody VanSumeran; Zachary Tacey and Maranda Toporski.  Also surviving are two sisters, Eleanor Hornak; Harriet Jankowiak; several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Pat was predeceased by a grandson, Gerald Patrick Toporski; one sister, Evelyn (Robert) Ratajczak; her mother’s in-law and father in-law, Stanley and Angeline Toporski; Lula Toporski; three brother’s in-law, Edward Hornak; Richard Jankowiak; James (Marlene) Toporski and a sister in-law, Patricia (Howard) Banaszak.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m.  Members of the Rosary Sodality will pray the rosary at 2:00 p.m. Monday followed by a parish vigil service and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary service for Pat at 7:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society of Bay Co., Michigan Heart Association or family wishes.

Donald E. Przepiora

Don, a man of strong conviction, went home to be with his Lord Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at his home, age 88.  Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend to all who knew him was born November 5, 1928 in Bay City to the late Walter and Agnes (Gleinecki) Przepiora.  He married Marylis A. Coupie in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church on June 18, 1949 and she predeceased him on September 26, 2013.  Don retired from Newcor after 25 years of service and was a devoted member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church.  He was a lecturer and Eucharistic at church as well.  He was a 3rd Degree Brother Knight with St. Stanislaus Kostka Knights of Columbus Council #12423 and often went on retreats to the Queen of Angels in Saginaw.  Don was an avid hunter and loved bowling. While bowling some years back he broke the senior record with an 800 Series and received a ring to remind everyone about that amazing achievement. Don also remained a diehard Detroit Tigers and Lions fan, “when they were winning.”

Surviving are his six children: David (Gail) Przepiora, Diane Awad, Timothy Przepiora, Michael (Julie) Przepiora, Jeffrey (Mary) Przepiora and Jason (Heidi) Przepiora, eleven grandchildren:  Maressa (Christopher) Yaklin, Ryan (Jess) Wegener, Stacy (Kim) Stock, Scott (Liz) Meyer, Danelle Archangeli, Robert (girlfriend, Janae Kramer) Awad, Mallory Awad, Heather Gomez, Shannon (Andy) Hildinger, Matthew and Jonah Przepiora, nine great grandchildren: Barrett and Sloane Yaklin, Emberlyn and Eliana Stock, Desiree, Emilio and Isiah  Gomez, Emma Meyer and Alyssa Hildinger, a sister in-law Elaine Przepiora, several nieces and nephews.  Don was predeceased by a daughter and a son in-law, Barbara and Joseph Wegener, grandson, Neil Wegener, one brother Robert Przepiora and a sister Lorraine Miceli.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, MI 48708.  Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Saturday after 9:00 am.  Members of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish will pray the Rosary for Don Friday at 2:00 pm, followed later by a Parish Vigil Service and Knight of Columbus Bible Presentation at 7:00 pm, Vigil led by Fr. William J. Rutkowski.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

The Przepiora family would like to extend a special thank you to Don’s granddaughter Mallory Awad for her kind and compassionate care she gave grandpa and having Mallory’s dog Zula there for companionship.

Robert J. Gabriel

Mr. Gabriel passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his residence with his children by his side, age 80.  He was born November 17, 1936 in Bay City to the late Edward and Rose (Roznowski) Gabriel.  Robert married Shirley Ann Block on February 2, 1957 and she predeceased him on June 12, 1999.  He was an operating engineer for the Dow Chemical Company and retired in his mid-fifties after 25 years of service.  Robert enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing when he could.

Surviving is a son Terrance J. Gabriel and a daughter Kathryn A. Gabriel and two granddaughters, Samantha L. Gabriel and Lindsay M. (Kyle) Gabriel.  Robert was predeceased by one brother Floyd Gabriel and three sisters: Irene Flagella, Mary Meier and Verna Chappel.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor Joe Atchinson will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to McLaren Hospice.
