Joyce E. Konkle

     Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 27, 2017, age 91.  She was born April 5, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to the late John K. and Dorothy (Morey) Harrington.  Joyce married George W. Konkle on February 17, 1961 and he predeceased her in October of 1990.  She loved riding her bike, working in her yard and crafting personal “love notes” to her family and friends out of magazines and old photos.  Joyce loved every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will forever hold a special place in all of their hearts and amazing memories to cherish as well.

Surviving are four children: Diane (Dale) Reed, Terry Konkle, Kathleen (Todd) Lagalo and Susan (Sumi) Ghosh, fifteen grandchildren: Lisa (Brian) Johnson, Brian (Laura) Gillis, Michael (Leeann) Gillis, Lori (John) Foster, Johnathon Gillis, Jessica Tanghetti, Lisa Marie O’ Laughlin, Meagan (Adam) Sponseller, Benjamin Dardas, Brandon (Gina) Lagalo, Kayla (Craig) Anderson, Amanda Lagalo, Samuel (fiancée, Lea) Ghosh, Adam Ghosh and Grace Ghosh, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a dear close friend Chris Weber.  Joyce was predeceased by her sister Sherry (Danny) Skrzypczak.

The Konkle family will be holding a private celebration of Joyce’s life.  No visitation or services will be held at the Squires Funeral Home.  Those who would like to express their sympathy are asked to consider memorials to First State Home Health & Hospice Care, 3901 Fortune Blvd. Saginaw, MI 48603.

John N. Tacey

Essexville, Michigan


     Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend to many passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Bay Comfort Care, age 78.  John was born September 17, 1939 in Bay City to the late Norbert and Lottie (Kosnik) Tacey.  He married Suzanne C. Kabacinski in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on April 16, 1966 and she predeceased him on February 20, 2017.  John worked in the construction and was employed with Gary Hugo & Sons until his retirement in 2003.  He was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church, 3rd Degree Brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #2740 in Essexville and a 4th Degree Sir Knight  of the John F. Kennedy Assembly #503 also in Essexville.  John enjoyed playing cards, fishing, reading and calling bingo numbers at the council.

Mr. Tacey is survived by his three children: Patricia A. Tacey, Kevin J. Tacey and Aileen M. (David) Hecht, two grandsons, Ian D. and Eli J. Hecht, five siblings: Michael P. Tacey, Larry D. (Margaret) Tacey, Kathleen A. LeCronier, Dennis R. (Janine) Tacey and Vernell R. (Cindy) Tacey, three brothers in-law: John Martin, Joseph Yarabek and Chris (Kay) Kabacinski, many nieces and nephews.  John was predeceased by three sisters: Constance T. Martin, Marilyn (Joseph) Burke and Christine R. Yarabek.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish-St. John’s Church, 619 Main Street, Essexville.  Fr. Dale Orlik will celebrate Mass and inurnment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  No visitation hours will be at Ambrose Funeral Home, however, friends may call at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

Janet Roberts (Linderman)

     Janet went home to be with her Lord Jesus one year ago on September 25, 2016, with her family by her side.  She was born April 13, 1944 in Cass City, Michigan to the late Harvey and Phyllis (Rodgers) Linderman.  She married Hazen Gene Roberts the love of her life in 1961.  She loved reading, you could always find her with a book in her hands.  She especially loved Gods word.  When the children were young, they did a lot of family camping trips.  As well as boating, gardening and canning.  Jan will be fondly remembered for her great sense of humor and caring heart.

Janet is survived by her children: Rick and Kim Roberts, Robin Rigg, Randy Roberts and friend Marilyn Derocher,, grandchildren: Amber (Patrick) Shaw, Jessica Roberts, Morgan Roberts, and Jacob Roberts, Melissa Roberts, Kyle Rigg, Kris Rigg, Kurtis Rigg and Kody Rigg, Shaina Roberts, Miranda Roberts and Devin Roberts, great grandchildren: Trenton, Ashton, Cameron, Melina, Audrey, Serenity and Paityn Roberts, one brother Harvey Linderman, three sisters: Marilyn (Bill) Woodward, Norma Jean (Jerry) Craig and Helen Sprague, many nieces, nephews, friend Betty Chatfield and lifelong friend Charlotte Sangster.  Janet was predeceased by her husband Hazen, an infant sister Ruth Ann Linderman, one sister Nancy (Ron) Peters and a brother Bill Linderman.

Cremation services were held.  The Roberts family would like to thank all the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center for their help and support they gave Janet while she was a resident there just over a year ago.

Tim R. Hartley

Tim Hartley went home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday September 17, 2017.

Tim lived a life full of ups and downs but ultimately found his hope in the unchanging grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.  To know Tim was to never, ever forget him.  Tim loved old cars and re-telling stories from his adventures out West.  Above all else, Tim loved his family and cared deeply, in his own way, for all of those close to him.

He leaves behind his loving wife and forever sidekick, Cathy, his children: Chad & Holly, Destiny & Tim, and John & Magan, grandchildren: Jacob & Ashley, Mariah, Anastasia, Alex, Haillie, Kloee, Katherine, Courtney, Avery, Johnathon, Vivian and a great grandbaby on the way.  Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Kathleen & Barry, Randy & Julie, Bruce & Nancy, Theresa & Mark, Bill & Renee, Sue, Carrie, Judy, and Rob, many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Tim will be greatly missed but forever kept alive by the memories in the hearts of each and every person who met him.

Marilyn was born June 23, 1943 in Midland.  She passed away September 14, 2017.  Cremation has taken place.  A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Flossie McCartney passed away Monday, September 11, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region, age 64.  She was born July 6, 1953 in Saginaw to the late Willie & Betty (Timlick) Dady.  Flossie married Paul McCartney on September 23, 1972 and he survives her.  She enjoyed crocheting, watching movies, quad riding, reading books and loved being around her dogs.  Surviving besides her husband Paul she leaves two daughters; Ronda Jo (James) Baker, April McCartney, two grandchildren; Nicholas and Hunter Baker.  Also surviving are one brother and four sisters; Ralph (Jane) Dady, Barbara (Alfred) Schomaker, Elsie Hyatt, Patricia Dady and Linda McKee.  She was predeceased by a grandson, Nathaniel Baker and a brother, Ronald Dady.  Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Nancy Rivet will officiate.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m and on Friday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
