Ronald L. Hodder was called home by the Lord on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region surrounded by his family, age 84 years.  He was born October 9, 1932 in Bay City to the late Floyd Hodder and Lillian (Jean) Woods.  Ron served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954 during the Korean Conflict and later retired as First Master Sergeant Mechanic of the U.S. Army.  He married Sandra A. Meyers who predeceased him in 2007.  Ron then married the former Jean Anne Schram on June 20, 2009 and she survives him.  Ron was an avid bowler and was very active in the Bay City Bowling Association and was elected to the Bay City Bowling Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed golfing as well as making golf clubs.  Surviving besides his wife Jean, he leaves four children, Thomas Hodder; Jennifer (Jody) Julian; Cathy (Brian) Reed; Elaine (Jim) Wutke; two step-children, Daniel W. (Star) DeBats; Lynda Jean (Walter) Hunter; seven grandchildren, Kate (Stephen) Klein; Megan (Will) Massey; Kristina (Adam) Douglas; Jessica (Dustin) Stanolis; Kyle (Katarina) Reed; Emily Reed; Jim Wutke Jr.; three step-grandchildren, Cayden, Colby, Cash DeBats and six great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Beverly Staszak; a sister in-law, Marcy Hodder and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter in-law, Amy, a brother, Gerald and a brother in-law, John Staszak.  The family would like to thank the staff at McLaren Bay Region C.C.U. for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Ron.  Cremation has taken place and their will be a Memorial Service on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. from the Wesleyan Church.  Pastor Mark Haines will officiate followed by military honors by the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the church only on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

    Uncle Floyd, Ron and Jerry were close to our family during our “early” growing up years (my dad is the late Wilbert Hodder), and I remember many memories playing with Ron & Jerry. Sorry we won’t be in town for the memorial service. Our condolences to the family.
