Dorothy M. Wachowiak

Wachowiak new photoMrs. Wachowiak passed away Friday June 30, 2017, at McLaren Bay Region, age 88.  She was born to the late Peter and Irene (Frankowiak) Urban on May 2, 1929 in Bay City where she resided all her life.  Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish (St. Hyacinth Church), its Rosary-Altar Society, and a life member of the AMVETS Auxiliary.  Dorothy will be always be remembered for the loving, tenderhearted, and patient way she cared for others, especially the joy of her life, her daughter, Sharon Ann. She and Sharon Ann played Bingo almost daily with G49 being her favorite number.  Dorothy was also a careful shopper and enjoyed a good bargain.

Family members were frequently blessed with care packages that were created from the fruits of her thrifty shopping.  The family would like to thank her bingo friends Diane, Gail, Jimmy and Jack for taking her every week.

 

Besides her daughter Sharon Ann, Dorothy is survived by her grandchildren, Misty Wachowiak and Levi (Chloe) Wachowiak; great grandchildren, Braxton Barber and Ashlynn Murray, a special great niece and longtime caregiver, Renee (Edward) Homminga and Renee’s children, Brandon, Shelbie, and grandson Bentley Scheufelt.  Dorothy is also survived by her close friend, Diane McDonald.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her son Daniel and sister, Angeline Payne.

 

A funeral service for Dorothy will take place Friday, July 7 2017 at 7:00 p.m. from Ambrose Funeral Home.  Deacon Stanley Kuczynski and Sue Roznowski will preside with cremation to follow.  Friends may call at Ambrose Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider “family wishes”.
