Victoria C. Krygier “Vicky”

krygierphotoVictoria age 88, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 with her family at her side.  She was born on March 3, 1928 in Bay City to the late Denis and Clara (D’moch) Bernelis.  Victoria met her husband, Clarence Krygier, in the coffee shop of the Kresge five and dime store.  They were married on August 5, 1950 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage this past summer.  Victoria was a loving mother who cared for and raised her seven children, then went on to work in the circulation department for the Bay City Times.  She later worked as a clerk at Barney’s Bakery, where she developed a love for cake decorating and made many special birthday and wedding cakes for her family and friends.  She was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the Rosary/Altar Society, a Eucharistic Minister to the sick for St. Hyacinth Church and a member of the K of C St. Stephen Council #4102 Ladies Auxiliary. Victoria’s kind heart and love for the Lord brought joy to all who knew her.  Victoria is survived by her loving husband, Clarence; her seven children, Martin Krygier, Clara (Earl) Reifel, Donald (Diane) Krygier, Nancy (Michael) Ruegsegger, Pauline (Steven) Ray, Marylou (Michael) Bartkowiak, Sally (Chon) Mata; fourteen grandchildren, Laurie (Michael) Kiselow, Scott Hall (Rachel Oberst), Renee (Randy) Duncan, Michele Krygier (Rob), Nicholas (Denise) Ruegsegger, Justin Ruegsegger, Melissa Ray, Jeremy Ray, Stephen Ray, Brandon (Rachel) Bartkowiak, Ashley (Adam) Sohasky, Alex Mata, Jessica Mata & Alicia Mata; five great-grandchildren and one on the way.  Also surviving her is a sister, Rose Castaneda, and a sister in-law, Evelyn Bernelis.  She is preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Bernelis and a brother in-law, Ray Castaneda.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church (1503 Kosciuszko Ave.).  Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with entombment in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday, February 9th from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday after 9:00 a.m.  Members of the Rosary/Altar Society will pray the rosary at 2:00 p.m. Thursday and the K of C St. Stephen Council #4102 Ladies Auxiliary will have a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  The Krygier family would like to thank the caregivers at Bayfield Assisted Living and the Hometown Hospice team for the love and care they showed to Victoria.
