Frank A. Schalk

schalk-photo282Frank Schalk age 63 years passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at the McLaren Bay Region.  He was born March 22, 1952 in Bay City to the late Frank and Elsie (Williams) Schalk.  Frank worked at Sunglo Company for 22 years before retiring.  He will always be remembered as a person who would help his family and friends in any way he could.  Surviving are six children; Amey Hart, Gary Carter, Frank (Kelly) Schalk, Jennie Schalk, Heidi Whittaker, Kyle (Amanda) Whittaker and seventeen grandchildren.  Also surviving are two sisters and a brother; Jean (Don) Foreman, Kate (Roger) Czerwinski, Victor Schalk and many loving nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brandi Schalk.  Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 2 – 8 p.m. at the Squires Funeral Home.

Enos Marquez

 Mr. Marquez passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his home, age 81.  He was born February 1, 1934 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Joseph and Cayatana (Marin) Marquez.  He married Joanne F. Trudell on February 3, 1968 and she survives him.  Enos graduated from Saginaw Valley State University and was a veteran, serving his country with the US Air Force as a radio operator during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.  He was a member of the DAV and always opened his heart to those in need.  Enos was very generous and helpful to the less fortunate and will always be remembered by his large smile.

Surviving besides his wife Joanne are four children: Siena G. (Ace) Neering, Anthony I. Marquez, Teresa M. (Larry) Humes and Regina A. (David) Hunt, five grandchildren: Rosemari (Marcus) Velasquez, Julie A. Foco, Rondie A. King, Jesse C. Humes and Leah L. Humes and one brother, Frank (JoAnn) Marquez.  Enos was predeceased by his brothers: Lupe, James, Joseph, Jesse and Freddie Marquez and his sisters, Antonia (Toni) Marquez and Maria Off.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Enos’ life will be held Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm at Bangor Township Hall, 3921 Wheeler Road, Bay City, MI 48706.  Military Honors, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council will take place at the hall at 4:00 pm.

The Marquez family would like to thank all the staff at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw and Compassionate Care for their devotion and care they gave Enos and his entire family.

Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away Friday evening October 23, 2015 at the Bay Medical Care Facility, age 97.  He was born September 20, 1918 in Bay City to the late Anthony and Agnes (Zboralski) Linkowski.  He married the former Susanna M. Kuczkowski June 10, 1944 in St. Hyacinth Church and had celebrated over 70 years of marriage.  Sue predeceased him July 17, 2014.  Al was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 38 years before retiring.  He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Stanislaus Church and was a former choir member.  Al was an avid bowler and was inducted into the Bay County Hall of Fame.  Even when Al was in his 80’s he bowled several 300 games.  He also loved to play the harmonica and brought joy to many who heard him play.  Surviving are four children; Ronald P. Linkowski, Mark A. (Diane) Linkowski, Judith (Barry) Villarrubia, Alan P. Linkowski, four grandchildren; Melanie, Amanda, Allison and Benjamin.  Also surviving is a brother and sister; Henry and Irene Linkowski and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters; John, Edward, Walter, Octavian, Joseph, Sr. Celine and Gertrude.  Funeral Service will take place Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with entombment in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.  The Linkowski family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the nurses and staff at Bay Medical Care Facility for their exceptional care they gave to Al and his entire family.

Stan J. DeLorge

delorge-photo for paperOur loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was called home by his Heavenly Father on Monday, October 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family, age 68 years.  Stan was born October 28, 1946 in Bay City, to the late Lee & Helen (Larssen) DeLorge.  He attended St. Mary’s High School and graduated from the class of 1965.  Stan married the former Jacqueline M. Dzurka on November 15, 1969 in St. Vincent DePaul Church and she survives him.  He served in the U.S. Air Force.  Stan started his career working for the Saginaw County Fire Department at Tri-City Airport and later became a Police Officer for the Airport.  He then transferred to the Saginaw County Sheriff Department for five years transferring to the Bay City Police Department where he worked for over 24 years before retiring in July of 2000.  Stan was a member of the F.O.P. #103, the K of C Council #414 where he served as Grand Knight.  Stan was the first Grand Knight to have the office of Grand Knight passed down from father to son.  He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491, a D.A.R.E. Officer and Liaison Officer for the Bay City Schools.  Stan kept stats for over 24 years for the Bay City Central High School Football Program.   He was a member of Brian’s House Community Group, Monday Night Businessmen’s Bowling League, where he served as secretary for many, many years.  He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church.   Stan in his early years was a sports reporter while serving in the U.S. Air Force and covered the 1968 World Series Game and the All Star Game for the Playground Daily News.  He co-chaired the K of C #414 Wednesday night Bingo and was an avid golfer and bowler.  Stan was a very dedicated employee for the Ambrose and Squires Funeral Homes for many years.  Stan was always finding ways to give of himself to those in need, his generous heart and giving spirit will be greatly missed and forever remembered.  Surviving besides his wife Jackie he leaves four children; Thomas (Shannon) DeLorge and their children, Jaden & Jonathon; Patricia (Tom) Lewandowski and their children, Mackenzie, Mallory & Madeline; Joel (Kelly) DeLorge and their son Brady; Nicholas DeLorge, and a great-grandson, Cameron.  Also surviving is his favorite mother-in-law, Patricia Dzurka, one brother, Tom DeLorge, an uncle, Roy (Nonnie) DeLorge.  Brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law;  Tom Deladurantaye, Jill Conn, Judy (Gary) Schulz, Jane (Tom) Knochel, Jeff (Kathy) Dzurka, Jon (Von) Dzurka, dear friends;  Dave Wahr, Ralph Ulman and many nieces, nephews, counsins and his dog Toby.  He was predeceased by his sister, Mara Deladurantaye, father-in-law, Thomas Dzurka, a brother-in-law, Joey Dzurka, two sister-in-laws;  Joyce Havican and Jeanne DeLorge.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, October 23, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. from Our Lady of Peace Church.  Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-8 P.M. and at the Church on Friday after 9:00 A.M.  There will be a Parish Vigil Service for Stan on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. followed by a Bible Presentation and a Resolution of Condolence and Chalice Presentation by the Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Brian’s House or Family Wishes.


Braylee James Sian

sian-photoOur Precious Angel Braylee James Sian was called home by the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his home at the age of seven months.  Braylee was born March 14, 2015 in Bay City.  Surviving is his mother, Katie Sian & Samuel Thering, his father, Adam LaGuire, grandparents; Jennifer Kotewa, Alan Sian, Shelly Crouse, Mark LaGuire, great-grandparents; Judith and Mark McKay, Bill Rieffel, aunts, Sara & Abigail Sian, Ashley Daly, uncle, Alan Sian cousins, Mathyew, Jemma, Evah and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.  Funeral and committal service will take place Monday, October 19, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor Tom Dinan from Lighthouse Family Worship Center will officiate.  Friends may call at the squires Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

KEYES2Jonathan S. Keyes passed away Friday morning October 16, 2015 at his home age 50 years.  He was born September 4, 1965 in Midland, Michigan.  Jonathan served our country in the U.S. Marine Corp.  He was very proud to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and serving his Lord and Savior.  Jonathan enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on computers, biking and spending time with his family and cat, “Calli”.  Surviving are two sons, Jonathan Keyes Jr., Elijah Keyes, mother and step – father, Cheryl (Cilley) and David Grunwell and his fiancée, Statia Ackerman.  He was predeceased by his brother, Christopher Keyes.  There will be no visitation or services at this time burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
