Irwin “Pete” C. Moreau Jr.

moreau-photo806Irwin “Pete” C.  Moreau Jr. was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 27, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 83.  He was born October 13, 1931 in St. Claire Shores, Michigan to the late Irwin C. Sr. and Anna M. (Sullivan) Moreau.  Pete married the former Jeanne Peltier April 23, 1955 in St. Boniface Church and the two have celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage.  She survives him.  He was a former co-owner of Breen’s Sporting Goods and Goddeyne’s Sport Shop.  Pete also worked for Stalkers, Thompson Bay and the Division on Aging where he delivered meals on wheels for over 10 years, retiring at the age of 80.  Pete was a gun smith for over 56 years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and will always be remembered as the family’s videographer. He faithfully served as layworker at St. Boniface for many years.

 

Surviving besides his wife Jeanne he leaves four children; Michelle (Don) Krogstad, Scott Moreau, Barbara Lewis, Julie (Steve) Bishop, twelve grandchildren; Darci (Furtaw) (Josh) Long, Carly Furtaw, Andrew Moreau, Valaree Moreau, Angela Eichhorn (Ben Krzyminski), Christopher (Ashley )Eichhorn, Veronica Moreau, Rachelle (Brian) Hall, Hunter Moreau, Greggory Lewis, Amara Bishop and Janae Bishop, three step-grandchildren; Nathan Krogstad, Alyssa (Noah) Pritikin, Leanne (Tim Hayden), thirteen great-grandchildren; Jade Garcia – Furtaw, Kaden Furtaw, Jecara Williams, Jericho, Jobe and Jeremiah Long, Aundrea Moreau and Violet Moreau, Cameron, Candace and Carsyn Krzyminski, Bentley Kennedy, Noah Eichhorn, six step great-grandchildren; Garrett, Micah, Kellen and Henry Pritikin, and Jordan and Alexis Hayden.  Also surviving are two sisters and four brothers; Mary Ann Michie, Paul (Jackie) Moreau, Pat (Rose) Moreau, John (Bernie) Moreau, Genelle (Larry) Lee, Michael “Justin” Moreau and Roger.  Besides his parents Anna and Irwin, he was predeceased in death by his Father in-law and Mother in-law, Arthur and Florence Peltier, by his son in-law, Gregg Lewis, a brother and sister in-law, Eugene and Dorine Moreau, a brother-in-law Don Michie, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday April 7, after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Pete at 7:00 p.m. Monday at Squires. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from All Saints Parish – St. Boniface Church.  Concelebrating will be Fr. Jose Cabrera and Fr. Dale Orlik followed by lunch. There will be a private family inurnment in Floral Garden Cemetery.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider McLaren Bay Region Hospice or All Saints Parish – St. Boniface Church.

Eugene V. Siminski

Eugene V. Siminski was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family age 82 years.  He was born November 29, 1932 in Bay City to the late William and Sarah (Wisniewski) Siminski.  Eugene married the former Mary Ann Shafer November 28, 1953 in St. Hyacinth Church.  She predeceased him May 20, 2009.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later retired from G.M. Grey Iron Foundry after many years of service.  Eugene was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, going to the casino and listening to polish music.  Surviving are four children; Patti VanOchten, Cathi (James) Meldrum, Bill Siminski, Rick (JoAnn) Siminski, eight grandchildren; Adam VanOchten, Christopher (Terra) Meldrum, Nicholas (Kaytlyn) Meldrum, Paul Meldrum, Garth & Devyn Siminski, Sara & Samantha Siminski and two great-grandchildren, Kiera and Braxton Meldrum.   Also surviving is a brother and a sister, Richard (Joan) Siminski, Corrine (Robert) Pajak, three sister’s in-law; Marcia LeTourneau, Germaine (Leonard) Bayer and Joyce (Gary) Thompson.  He was predeceased by a daughter in-law, Florie Siminski, a brother, Michael Siminski and his step-father, Frank Siminski.  The family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Medical Care for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Eugene.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish – St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Eugene E. Elder, Sr.

     Eugene passed away suddenly Saturday, March 21, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region, age 61.  He was born November 9, 1953 in Detroit to the late Carl and Clara Mae (Aikens) Elder.  Eugene was a drywall installer for several years and enjoyed playing pool, bike rides around town, fishing at the docks and having a good time at deer camp.  He was an avid Detroit Lions fan and loved to spend time with family and friends.

Surviving is a son, Eugene E. (Wendy) Elder, Jr., two grandchildren, Rebecca and Brandon, one brother, Jim (Kathy) Elder, one brother in-law and great longtime friend, Leonard Ciesielski, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Eugene was predeceased by two sons, Brett and Eric Elder and their mother, Jodi Elder, one brother, Hank Elder and a sister, Dorothy Hendrix.

A Memorial Service for Eugene will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Rev. Charles Campbell will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

Bryon D. Austin

     Bryon passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region, age 49.  He was born March 30, 1965 in Bay City to the late Gordon C. and Marjorie J. (Potter) Austin.  Bryon graduated from TL Handy High School in 1983 and then attended Delta College for skilled trades.  He married Amy S. White on October 1, 1988 in St. Mary’s Church and she survives him.  Bryon was employed with Dresco Machine in Bay City for 30 years and enjoyed motorcycles and restoring cars.  He was a devoted family man and will forever be held close in the hearts of all who loved him.

Surviving besides his wife, Amy are two sons, Alexander and Spenser Austin and two brothers, Tim (Shirley) and Kevin (Teri) Austin.  Bryon was predeceased by three brothers: Robert, Jamison and Matthew Austin and his grandparents, Albert (Bertha) Austin.

The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 11:00am at the Squires Funeral Home.  Linda Studniarz will officiate and interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday after 10:00 am.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials “Family Wishes.”

Joan passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at her home, age 72.  She was born December 13, 1942 in Bay City to the late Frank and Bernadette (Turmell) Lesperance.  She was raised by her grandmother, the former Ellen (Rylance) Weatherington.  She married Herbert W. Wright and April 7, 1990 and he predeceased her on November 14, 1997.  Joan was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and helped at the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Surviving are three children: Peggy (Terry) Horner, William Sharrow, Jr., and Christine (boyfriend, Alfredo Hewtty, Jr.) Burch, eight grandchildren: Terry (Cathy) Horner, Jr., Nicole (James) Lopez, Shana (Richard) Brewster, Chad Horner, Stephanie (Jessie) Boyle, Brett Sharrow and Kayla, JoEllen (Mike) Lilly and Zachary Burch and his friend Dave, twelve great grandchildren: Alyssa, Ruby, Raymond, Shaleigh, Gemma, Rose, Benjamin, Liam, Brayden, Arabella, Paige and Henry, three brothers: William (Judy) Saveall, Norman (Kathy) Saveall and Robert Saveall.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Squires Funeral Home.  The Rev Ann Grady will officiate and private inurnment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and on Saturday after 10:00 am.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

Linda L. Kreger

Linda was called home by her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the age of 65.  She was born June 16, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan.  Linda married Tommy Kreger and he predeceased her.  She was a licensed Minister and was very passionate in making a difference in other people’s lives.  Linda enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to rummage sales and making costumes.

Surviving are four children; Tracy Conyer, Lisa Conyer – Pongrat, Sean Kreger, Jenessa (Jeremy) Kaylor, nine grandchildren; Kevin Conyer, Jerrilyn & Elijah Emond, Kayra Pongrat, Devon Zang, Destiny Johnson, Anna, Leigha, James Kaylor and two great-grandchildren; Gaige Conyer and Narrisa Smith.

A Celebration of Linda’s Life will take place Sunday, March 22, 2015 immediately following the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service at Lighthouse Family Worship Center (300 N. Wenona St.) There will be no visitation at the funeral home.www.squiresfuneralchapel.com
