Thomas H. Voisine

voisine-photo newspaperWas called home to be with the Lord on Friday,  November 28, 2014 where he died at his home age 92 years.  He was born August 5, 1922 in Bay City to the late Charles and Emma (Fortin) Voisine.  He married the former Floris C. Amley November 7, 1942 in Bay City and she survives him.  Tom served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II and retired from the I.B.E.W. Local #692.  For many years Tom and Floris traveled out west for the winter months.  He enjoyed deer hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

 

Surviving besides his wife Floris, he leaves four children; Marilyn (Dale) Runyan, Kathy A. Rytlewski, John (Cheryl) Voisine, Dennis Voisine, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one sister, Edwedge LaPan and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a son in-law, Richard Rytlewski, a daughter in-law, Diane Voisine, seven brothers and five sisters.

 

A Memorial Service will take place Saturday December 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Linda Studniarz will officiate followed by military honors by the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Easter Seals or the Bay City Salvation Army.

Oza Frank Brown

     Oza passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Country Square AFC home, age 88.  He was born August 10, 1926 in Bay City to the late George S. and Estella A. (Paul) Brown.  He married Eve Grull and she predeceased him in 1982.  He was a veteran of WWII and served his country with the Merchant Marines and the US Army.  Oza was employed for over forty years with the New York Central and Grand Trunk Rail Roads and was a life member of the Wenona Lodge #256 Free and Accepted Masons.  Oza was instrumental in the establishment of the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum in Rogers City, where for all of his contributions there is a wonderful memorial to him on display.  He also enjoyed traveling from state to state to admire nature’s beauty.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.  Oza was predeceased by three brothers: James Paul (Gladys), William K. (Fern) and George (Joyce) Brown.

A Memorial Service for Oza, led by members of the Wenona Lodge #256 Free and Accepted Masons will be held Thursday, December 4, 2014 at 6:00pm at the Squires Funeral Home.  Private inurnment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Wenona Lodge #256 Free and Accepted Masons.

     Denise passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 15, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas, age 54.  The daughter of Floyd and Carol (Letourneau) Gasta she was born April 16, 1960 in Dover, Delaware.  Denise graduated from Bay City All Saints and was an expert with computers as well as website development.  She was also a published author of children’s books.

     She is survived by Jeanette Wardynski, Kyle Wardynski, her mother Carol, one brother David, two sisters, Lori (Trent) and Lanette (Ed), one grandmother, Phyllis Nagy, nieces, Alyssa and Ashlee and her best friend, Jana.  Denise was predeceased by her father, Floyd M. Gasta, grandparents: Bill (Jeanette) Letourneau, Alfred Norton, Max (Stella) Gasta and Walter (Ella) Hobkirk.

     The Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 5, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate and private inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00noon until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to family wishes.

Noreen R. Morzinski

     Noreen passed away quietly at her home after a short illness, surrounded by her family, age 86.  She was born April 22, 1928 in Bay City to the late Henry and Lillian (Doonan) Peters.  Noreen married Frank V. “Cowboy” Morzinski, Sr. on May 26, 1945 and he survives her.  She was a bookkeeper for many years and a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Hyacinth Church. 

     Noreen was predeceased by a son, “Bobby”, five sisters and one brother.  She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Frank “Cowboy”, two sons, Randy (Connie) and Frank (Judy) Morzinski, Jr., four grandchildren: Sarah, Heath, Yancy and Frank R. Morzinski.  Noreen will be missed by her family and friends, but is now happily walking with her son Bobby in Heaven.

     The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 7:00pm at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Fr. Rick Filary will officiate and private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00pm until the time of services.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to McLaren Hospice or “Family Wishes.”

Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Bay Medical Care Facility, age 95.  She was born January 26, 1919 in Bay City to the late Michael and Frances (Urban) Trojanowicz.  Dorothy married Sylvester F. “Sal” Samolewski in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and he predeceased her on May 5, 1984.  She worked many years ago at the Wenonah Hotel and later retired from the State of Michigan un-employment office in Bay City.  Dorothy was a life member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, Rosary/Altar Society Group #14, Felician Sisters Auxiliary, Senior Citizens and Sera Probe with the State of Michigan.  She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, playing cards, bingo, trips up-north, shopping, family meals and gatherings.

Surviving is a daughter, Marcia (Tim) Lochinski, one son, Terry Samolewski, three grandchildren: Pamela (Ken) Atterberry, Patrick (Helene) Lochinski and Barbara (Greg) Potts, seven great grandchildren: Nicole (Scott) Biskup, Melody (Dan) Perreault, Jacob, Morgan and Kathryn Lochinski, Ellie Potts and Rachael Spicer, one sister in-law, Mae Samolewski and nieces and nephews.  Dororthy was predeceased by a brother, Chester (Loretta) Trojanowicz, two sisters, Isabelle Ratajczak and Alice Lokatys and a brother in-law, Edward Samolewski.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, December 1, 2014 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church.  Interment will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Monday after 9:00am.  Members of the church will pray the Rosary Sunday at 2:00pm, followed later by a Parish Vigil Service at 7:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Bay Medical Care Facility.

Ernest G. Lopez “Ernie”

Ernie passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at his home, age 46.  He was born December 6, 1967 in Anchorage, Alaska.  He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1986.  He attended Northwood University and Delta College business classes and was previously employed with LMS in Midland.  Ernie enjoyed fishing, cards at the PLAV, bowling, and bingo at the Boys and Girls Club and family vacations at Drummond Island.  He was an avid gamer and often volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club and to help take care of his father, Gary.  Ernie loved spending time with his family and all their functions or activities they had.  He especially enjoyed his niece and nephew.

Surviving is his father, Gary (Beverly Minster) Lopez, his mother, Grace (Tom Bock) MacDonald, two sisters, Deidra (Daniel) LaMoria and Lois Lopez, one niece, Gabriel LaMoria and a nephew, Josh LaMoria.  Ernie was predeceased by a niece, Tabitha LaMoria and his grandparents: Joseph (Lois) MacDonald and Ernest (Velma) Lopez.

Friends and family will gather at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”
