Paul Carradine

Paul passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 84.  He was born May 27, 1929 in Marion, Indiana to the late Augustus R. and Mary I. (Flemming) Cannon.  Paul married Connie Ellen Spires on March 7, 1973 and she predeceased him.  He was a veteran and served his country with the US Army.  Paul retired from Powertrain in Bay City and was a member of the American Legion, VFW and UAW.

Surviving are his children: Paul Carradine Jr., Paul Christian Hampton, Paula Hampton, Germayne Hampton, Becky Hampton, Brandon Carradine, Fredd Wicks and family Kristin Hampton, grandchildren: Autumn, Royale and Josh Hampton, Sommer, Brandon, Tamara, Christian, Paul, Darius, Demeterius, Travis, Gia, Stanton, Davene, Laura, two great grandchildren, Leon, Madison and a sister, Pearl E. Bassett Cannon.  Paul was predeceased by six brothers:  August, Quentin, Marqus, James, Delmare, Jerome and one sister, Naomi.

Funeral service will take place Monday, November 4, 2013 at 1:00pm at Gethsamene Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 Johnson Street, Bay City.  Pastor Alfonzo Abner will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00pm and at church on Monday after 12:00noon.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Clarence F. Nowak “Clem”

Clem passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 84.  He was born April 19, 1929 in Bay City to the late Frank and Martha (Krawczyk) Nowak.  He married Geraldine R. “Gerri” Murawski on May 5, 1951 and she survives him.  Clem was a veteran and served his country with the US Air Force from 1948 to 1955.  He retired from General Motors in 1987 and was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Clem was past president of St. Stanislaus Athletic Club and a member of the League of Catholic Men and Women, Senior Citizens, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Elks BPOE #88, bingo committee, former usher, lector and Eucharistic minister. Clem loved fishing and bowling in the Polish Bowling Tournaments.

Surviving besides his wife, Gerri are three children: Vicki L. (Brian Bunker) Reinhardt, Randy M. (Kellijo) Nowak and Amy L. (Greg) Gillard, grandchildren: Jason and Randy Jr. Nowak, Kerrijo McDaniel, Korrijo (Trevor) Lowe, Bethanee Gillard, Renee Nowak, Joshua (Silvia Scheddel) Gillard and Peter Nowak, nine great grandchildren, two sisters, Alvina Nowak and Maxine (Jeff) Poling and one brother in-law, Ronald (Theresa) Murawski.  Clem was predeceased by one brother, Eugene (Hazel) Nowak and one sister, Edna (Burt) Hagar.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Jerzy Dobosz will celebrate Mass and private entombment will be at St. Patrick Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Tuesday after 9:00am.  Members of St. Stanislaus Church will pray the Rosary Monday at 2:00pm, followed later by a Parish Vigil Service for Clem at 7:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund or St. Stanislaus Food Pantry.

The Nowak family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at McLaren Bay Region 4 West for their kind and compassionate care they gave Clem and his entire family.

Allie Wawrzyniak

wawrzyniak-photo for obitMr. Allie Wawrzyniak ‘The Barber” passed away peacefully Sunday, October 27, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region.  He was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Szczepanski) Wawrzyniak and was born February 6, 1921 in Bay City.  Allie married the former Victoria Kondziola on October 11, 1940 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  They have celebrated over 73 years of marriage and she survives him.  Allie served in the U.S. Army during WW II serving in the Philippine Islands and Japan.  Allie was owner and operator of his barbershop for 75 years and recently retired in February.  The joys in his life were his grandchildren, great-grandchildren his cottage in AuGres, hunting, fishing and doing his own taxidermy.  Allie was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, A.C. and the K of C St. Stephen Council #4102.

 

Surviving besides his wife Victoria, he leaves three daughters; Janet (Kent) Smith, Joan (Oliver) Merriam, Eileen Nenninger, his grandchildren, Brent (Mary) Smith, Stacy Smith, Blake Merriam and his great-grandchildren; Rebecca, Andrew, Zachary Smith, Nikolas and Amanda Pieknik.  He was predeceased by his brother, Ted Wawrzyniak and a sister, Lorraine Kalinowski.

 

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Webb, his staff  and the nurses at Heartland for their care and support.  We would also like to thank his loyal customers for their patronage and friendship and his neighbors Gary Wisniewski and Gary Korthals for the snow removals over the years.

 

Funeral Mass will take place Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church followed by military honors by the Bay County Veteran’ Council.  Fr. Jerzy Dobosz will officiate with private entombment in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 – 8 P.M. and at the church on Monday after 10:00 A.M.  There will be a parish vigil service for Allie along with a Bible Presentation by the K of C St. Stephen Council at 7:00 P.M. Gladys E. Schultz

Gladys passed away Monday, October 28, 2013 at Close to Home AFC on Fisher, age 84.  She was born November 24, 1928 in Bay City to the late Rudolph and Glenn (Short) Schultz.  She retired from AT&T as an operator with over 43 years of dedicated service.  Gladys was an avid collector of spoons, tea cups, plates, dishes and dolls.

Surviving is one brother, Glen (Nancy) Schultz, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.  Gladys was predeceased by three sisters: Wilhelmina Johnson, Betty Mynarcik and Kathryn Aubrey and one brother, Rudolph Schultz.

The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 11:00am at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Rev. John R. Wood will officiate and private interment will be held in Elm Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00pm and Thursday after 10:00am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries, Inc., 354 West St. Ste 1, Valparaiso, IN 46383-6298.

Gladys’ family would like to thank Dr. James Bodrie for his wonderful care, the staff at Heartland Hospice and all the staff and residents at Close to Home AFC on Fisher for their kind and compassionate attention they gave Gladys and her entire family.

Cecilia (Sally) K. Delestowicz

delestowiczphoto374Sally Delestowicz age 75 passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Lakewood, Colorado.  She was born November 22, 1937 in Bay City to the late Joseph and Blanche (Janowiak) Wachowiak.  Sally married Richard (Dick) Delestowicz, Sr., for over 49 years before he predeceased her in 2005.  She was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, Lakewood, CO. and a former member of St. James Church in Bay City.  Our Mom enjoyed the mountains and snow in Colorado in her retirement years.  A church service was held October 18 at St. Bernadette’s for her beloved daughter and family in the Denver area.

 

Surviving are six children; Rick (Judy), AnnMarie, Ken (Vikki), Michael, Robert and Scott Delestowicz, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are four brothers and a sister; Joseph (Josephine), Gerald (Joyce) Wachowiak, Mary Ann (Don) Gradowski, Edwin (Cathy), Thomas (Candy) Wachowiak, one brother in-law, John (Sandy) Delestowicz and a sister in-law, Nancy (Alex) Doan.  She was predeceased by a son, Andrew Delestowicz, a brother, James Wachowiak and two sisters, Aurelia Kalinowski and Loretta Buczek.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. from St. James Church.  Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate with inurnment in St Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church only on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of mass.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. James Church or Family Wishes.

Zelma R. Stewart

Zelma passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Saginaw Geriatrics, age 88.  She was born March 11, 1925 in Cygnet, Ohio to the late George and Lucy May (Abrams) Cole.  Zelma married Arther L. Stewart on January 6, 1944 and he predeceased her on May 29, 2001.  Zelma was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four children: Henry A. (Karen) Stewart, Vivian Cape, Dale Stewart and Donald (Jacque) Stewart, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Zelma was predeceased by a son Richard Stewart, four brothers and four sisters.

The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Squires Funeral Home.  Rev. Leonard A. Clevenger will officiate and interment will follow in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. on Thursday.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Grace United Methodist Church.
