Zachary Ishmael Charles Nicholas

nicholas-photo355Zac went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 28, 2013 where he was met at the Eastern Gate by his father Jackie “Jack” Leroy Nicholas and his two grandmothers, Agnes Campbell and Donna Faye Cobb.  Zachary Ishmael Charles Nicholas was born April 25, 1988 in Wilmington, N.C.


Surviving are his four children; Alijo, Hunter, Tylergarett, Selena Elizabeth Rose and his special friend, Cassandra Jacobs.  Also surviving is his mother, Gerri (Campbell) Nicholas, his grandparents, Charles Campbell Sr. and his wife Donna, five brothers and five sisters; Troy (Jackie) Nicholas, Tanja Nicholas, Heidi (Michael) VanHorn, Jessie (Kurtis) Norton, SaraBrooke (Jerrod), Holly, Adam, Westonlee, Austin Nicholas and Logan.  He leaves four nieces, three nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.


Funeral and committal service will take place Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Zac’s uncle Pastor Charles F. Campbell Jr. will officiate.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Bay Valley Christian Church the Zachary Nicholas Funeral Fund.

Marylis A. Przepiora

Bay City, Michigan


     Marylis an angel on earth and now in heaven passed away Thursday evening at Close to Home AFC, age 84.  She was born September 17, 1929 in Standish to the late Jerome and Henrietta (LaSage) Coupie.  Marylis married Donald E. Przepiora in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church on June 18, 1949; he survives her.  In 1981 she retired from Bay City Chevrolet after 32 years of dedicated service.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Rosary Society Group #34, Senior Citizens, Daughters of Isabella and the League of Catholic Men and Women.  Marylis was a Eucharistic Minister for many years, volunteered at funeral luncheons and enjoyed bowling.  She always put family first and raised seven strong children.

Surviving besides her husband Don are her children: Barbara Wegener, David (Gail) Przepiora, Diane Awad, Timothy Przepiora, Michael (Julie) Przepiora, Jeffrey (Mary) Przepiora and Jason (Heidi) Przepiora, eleven grandchildren:  Maressa (Christopher) Yaklin, Ryan Wegener, Stacy (Kim) Stock, Scott (Liz) Meyer, Danelle Archangeli, Robert Awad, Mallory Awad, Heather Gomez, Shannon (Andy) Hildinger, Matthew and Jonah Przepiora, five great grandchildren: Barrett Yaklin, Emberlyn and Eliana Stock, Desiree and Emilio Gomez, four sister: Veronica Grusecki, Nova (Leonard) Manczak, Iva VanDenBoom and June Hewitt, two sister in-laws, Patricia Coupie and Elaine Przepiora, several nieces and nephews.  Marylis was predeceased by a son in-law, Joseph Wegener, grandson, Neil Wegener, one brother, John Coupie, two sisters, Una (Ben) Kruppa and Patricia (Marty) Johnstone and one brother in-law, Earl Hewitt.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 30, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Frank Voris will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Monday after 10:00am.  Members of St. Stanislaus Rosary Society Group #34 and Senior Citizens will pray the Rosary for Marylis Sunday at 2:00pm, followed later by a Parish Vigil Service at 7:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Southerncare Hospice or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

The Przepiora family would like to thank all the staff at Caretel Inns of Tri-Cities, Close to Home AFC and Southerncare Hospice for their kind and compassionate care they gave Marylis and her entire family.

Pamela F. Schlicker

schlicker-photo351Pamela Schlicker age 58 passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the Brittany Manor Nursing Home.  She was born July 22, 1955 in Winter Haven Florida.  Pam enjoyed sharing her Indian heritage with family and friends.


Surviving are three children; Tim Schlicker Jr., Autumn Yanna, Vena Moreau, fifteen grandchildren; Tim III, Trevor, Alicia, Kyle, Hayley, Morgan, Elijah, Jaylyn, Keelee, Brooklynn, Joslyn, Dakota, Mackenzie, Payton and Taygon.  Also surviving is her mother and step-father, Sarah & Terry Perdon, two sisters and a brother; Peggy (Wayne) Schmidt, Bill (Bev) VanWell, Donna (Rick) Thornton and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her father, William Vaughn, a grandson, Keaghon, two sisters, Debbie Dodd & Shirley and her great-grandmother Marie Thompson.


Funeral and committal service will take place Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Rev. Richard D. Leonard Anthony Jeske

Kawkawlin, Michigan


Mr. Leonard Anthony Jeske passed away Friday evening, September 20, 2013, at his home.  Age 82 years.  He was born in Kawkawlin Township on June 13, 1931 to the late Michael and Isabelle (Jozwiak) Jeske and was married to the late Joan Obermiller who passed away in 1998.  Leonard was a carpenter by trade and was a builder and contractor before his retirement.  Mr. Jeske was a proud member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and a member of the Carpenters Local 116, Knights of Columbus Council 4102 and AMVETS Post 22.  Leonard was a proud veteran and served his country with the US Marine Corps.


Surviving are four children Barbara (Michael) LeVasseur, Mark Allan (Rhonda) Jeske, Connie (Hamdi) Rammal and Michael Frederick (Barb) Jeske, eleven grandchildren: Christina, Anthony, Olivia, Madeline, Sophia, Adam, Victoria, Austin, Helena, Abigale and Lucas and two great grandchildren, Alexandria and Ava Lynn.  Leonard is also survived by four sisters: Irene Chosay, Delphine Witucki, Jean Ahler and JoAnn Laur.


The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.   Interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 9:00 a.m.  A Parish Vigil Service for Leonard will take place Monday at 7:00 p.m., followed immediately by a Knights of Columbus Bible presentation. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorials to the wishes of the Jeske family.

Mary D. Mayhew

Bay City, Michigan


Mary D. Mayhew age 98 passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 surrounded by her family at the Bay Medical Care Facility.   She was born August 7, 1915 in Bay City to the late Anthony and Hendrika (Van De Ryt) Raymaker.  Mary married Melvin J. Mayhew on January 21, 1939 and he predeceased her March 16, 1978.  She worked many years at the Millend Store before retiring.  Mary was a lifelong member of St. James Church.  She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing bingo, working on crossword puzzles and was an avid Detroit Tiger Fan.

Surviving are four children; Joseph (Karen) Mayhew & Michael Mayhew all of Bay City, William (Linda) Mayhew of Solona Beach, CA. and Melvin “Bud” (Carol) Mayhew of Poway CA.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Connie Mayhew – Eyre, Ron (Michelle) Mayhew, Paul Mayhew, Christy Mayhew, Carrie Robertson, Lisa Helton, Grant Mayhew, nine great-grandchildren; Mitchell & Marlee Eyre, Emerson & Alyssa Mayhew, Andy Wriggelsworth, Mikaela & Kyle Mayhew, Pryce & Mason Helton, one sister and two sister’s in-law; Josephine Sharpe, Louise and Nina Raymaker.  She was predeceased by five brothers; Joseph (Alice) Raymaker, Bernie (Frances) Raymaker, Henry (Mathilda) Raymaker, William Raymaker and Theodore (Nina) Raymaker.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from St. James Church.  Fr. William J. Gruden will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday after 9:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Sandra M. Bublitz (Parent)

Bay City, Michigan


     Sandra passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 63.  She was born May 17, 1950 in Bay City to the late William and Gloria (Yeager) Parent.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and AM Vets Ladies Auxiliary.  Sandra enjoyed playing bingo and cooking.

Surviving are three children: Robert (Helen Janz) Bublitz, Julie (Robert) Altscheffel and Michael Bublitz, one grandson, Trenton Altscheffel, one brother, George (Paula) Parent and two sisters, Judy (Richard) Valencia and Beverly (Jeff) Connell.  Sandra was predeceased by a brother, William Parent.

Cremation has taken place.  Friends and family will gather at the AM Vets Post #22 on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to “family wishes.”
