Robert M. Scherzer

scherzer-photo279Robert M. Scherzer, age 70 years, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Toni & Trish House.

He was born in Bay City on June 20, 1943 to Melvin and Gertrude (Rotarius) Scherzer.  Robert proudly served in the U. S. Air Force and retired from Bay City Powertrain as a Tinsmith.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and being outdoors.

 

He is survived by his son Dale (Angie) Scherzer, two daughters Robin Scherzer and Jessica (Bill) Melick along with 7 grandchildren.  Cremation has taken place there will be no visitation or services.

Mary M. Marchlewicz

Marchlewicz age 70 passed away peacefully Saturday June 22, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born February 9, 1943 in Bay City to the late Paul and Helen (Karpus) Malleck.  Mary married Timothy Marchlewicz April 24, 1965 in St. Boniface Church and he survives her.  She worked at People’s National Bank, was a member of St. James Church and the Altar Society.  Mary will always be remembered as having a big heart and lending a helping hand wherever she could.

 

Surviving besides her husband Timothy she leaves two children; Amy (Roger) Petrous, Chris (April) Marchlewicz, two grandsons; Rylan and Jaeden Machlewicz.  Also surviving is one sister and two brothers; Paula (Dale) Johnson, Mike (Eileen) Malleck, Max (Laura) Malleck, two sister’s in-law; Beatrice Malleck, Judy Migut, brother in-law, Joseph Marchlewicz and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Martin Mallek.

 

The family would like to thank Mary’s caregiver Jennifer Luepnitz and a special friend Dr. Hasegawa for their compassionate and wonderful care given to Mary over the years.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday June 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Church.  Fr. Bill Gruden will officiate.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Mary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. James Elementary School or Langley Hall.

James M. Beebe

beebe-bct277James M. Beebe age 61 passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Hospital of Saginaw surrounded by his family.  He was born July 11, 1951 in Bay City to the late Fred & Wilma (Reeves) Beebe.  Jim married the former Debra “Debbie” Trombley January 9, 1972 and she survives him.  He served in the U.S. Army for over 16 years and was a retired truck driver.  Jim enjoyed golfing and reading his Tom Clancey books.

 

Surviving besides his wife Debbie, he leaves two daughters; Heather Linn Beebe & companion John Gromaski and Heather’s daughter, Christina Linn Beebe known as grandpas favorite “Pookie”, Carlie Marie Johnson & her children Nicholas and Bailey.  Also surviving are two brothers; John William (Jackie) Beebe, Joseph Lee (Marilou) Beebe, several nieces, nephews and a special niece, Gidget.

 

Funeral Service will take place Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Pastor Joe Atchinson will officiate followed by military honors conducted by the Bay County Veteran’s Council with burial in Holly National Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Veteran’s Trust Fund.

David T. Donnelly

donnelly-bct273David T. Donnelly age 72 passed away peacefully Saturday June 22, 2013 at Covenant Health Care surrounded by his family.  He was born June 10, 1941 in Flint, MI. to the late F. James & Herberta S. (Bettesworth) Donnelly.  Dave married the former Yvonne R. Spicer September 20, 1985.  She predeceased him March 12, 2006.  Dave worked at Saginaw Malleable Iron G.M. Central Foundry for 33 years before retiring October 1, 2003.  He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Eucharistic Minister, Usher’s Club, Church Choir and Past President of the Parish Council.  Dave was past Grand Knight of the K of C Council #414 and also served as Financial Secretary.  He was a member of the Harbor Sounds Chorus, the UAW Local #455 and an active member of the Antique Car Club.

 

Surviving are six brothers and five sisters; Linda S. (Larry) Gontko, Cary J. Donnelly, Patrick M. (Judy) Donnelly, Diane K. (James) Bollman, Nancy J. Malovey, Timothy P. (Angie) Donnelly, Karen A. (Mark) LaMoria, Brian M. (Mary) Donnelly, Suellen M. Bartel, Thomas K. (Wendy) Donnelly, Jeffrey A. (Kelli) Donnelly, many nieces, nephews and a very special friend Dianna Ward.  Also surviving are four step-children; Vickie (Joe) Lauzon, Bill (Karen) Benson, Brian (Katherine) Benson and Cathy Smith.  He was predeceased by a brother, Dennis J. Donnelly, a nephew, Chip Gontko and two nieces, Molly Malovey and Danielle Donnelly.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday June 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary of the Assumption Church.  Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday after 10:00 a.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Dave and a Bible Presentation at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Mary’ Church Building Fund.

Mark Anthony Buczkowski

buczkowskiphoto2013Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, father in-law, Mark Anthony Buczkowski passed away suddenly Friday June 21, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region age 64 years.  He was born June 18, 1949 in Bay City to the late Alex and Cecelia (Sikorski) Buczkowski.  Mark married the former Jeannie A. Mysliwski November 21, 1970 and she survives him.  He worked for Bay City Powertrain for 37 years before retiring.  Mark enjoyed fishing, camping with his family, gardening, taking rides and spending time with his family.  He truly was a “devoted family man”.

 

Surviving besides his wife Jeannie he leaves two children; Mark Allen Buczkowski, Laurie (Joel) Weiss and their two children; Katelyn Rose & Danielle Jean Weiss.  Also surviving is a brother, Richard (Denise) Buczkowski, two sister’s in-law; Lorraine (Dave) Wylie, Joanne Toland and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, Robert (Cheryl) Buczkowski.

 

A private viewing took place with the family.  There will be no visitation or services scheduled at this time.

 

Our “Sweetheart” is gone but not forgotten.

Nina L. Guindon

Our loving mother, grandmother, “Gee Gee”, sister and aunt passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 with her daughters and sons in-law by her side, age 75.  She was born February 27, 1938 in Bay City to the late William J. and Charlotte M. (Chapman) Rye.  Nina married Kenneth C. Guindon on June 11, 1960; he predeceased her on April 13, 2008.  She enjoyed playing cards and working in her flower garden.  Nina was an avid Detroit Red Wings Fan.  She cherished her family dearly and loved spending time with them.

Surviving are three daughters: Peggy (Bill) Gillespie, Billie Jo (Wayne) Wrzesinski and Kristie (Tim) Burr, eight grandchildren: Nina (Dan) Nussear, David Przytula, Kevin (fiancé, Melissa) Przytula, Jeremy Przytula, Kenny Smith, Kendra (Cory) Armstrong, Matt (fiancé, Abbi) Burr and Samantha Burr, five step-grandchildren: Angie (Eric) Gassner, Kent (Jody) Wrzesinski, Tiffany (Dewey) DuRussell, Jackie (Jeff) Sporte and Angie (Mike) Schmidt, 15 great grandchildren, one brother, William Rye, many nieces and nephews.  Nina was predeceased by a son, Kenneth Charles Guindon II, two sisters, Margaret (William) Webber and Joann (Morgan) Hayes, one niece, Charlotte Kolka, one nephew, Dennis Webber and a sister in-law, Gail Zielinski.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 24, 2013 at 3:00pm at the Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor Matt Schramm will officiate and graveside interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00pm, Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00pm and Monday after 1:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to family wishes.
