Robert F. Beyett, Sr.

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare-Saginaw after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness, age 70. Robert was born February 1, 1942 in Bay City to the late Joseph L. and Cecelia Mary (Drzeweicki) Beyett. He married Shirley A. Jeske in St. Hyacinth Church on September 23, 1961; she survives him. Robert retired from Bay City Powertrain in 1997 after 37 years of dedicated service and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, helping others in need and fixing just about anything. He also loved being up-north, wintering in Florida, trying his luck at casinos and most importantly spending time with his beautiful grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife, Shirley are four children: Teri (Robert) Mulders, Robert (Nancy) Beyett Jr., Kathy (Russ) Gorski and Brian (Kyle Ann) Beyett, nine grandchildren: Danielle, Laura (friend, Ben) Mulders, Christopher, Katelyn Beyett, Haley and Alex Gorski, Bradley, Tyler, Kelsey Beyett, one sister, Joan Yeomans, one brother, Melvin (Cheryl) Beyett, one sister in-law, Aileen Beyett, several other brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Beyett, Jr.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Ricky M. Varner will celebrate Mass at interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:00 to 8:00pm and Wednesday at church after 10:00am. A Parish Vigil Service for Robert will be held Tuesday at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to a charity of donor’s choice.
Shirley and her family would like to thank Covenant Healthcare, Dr. Samuel Shaheen, Laurie Meyer and all the staff in Neuro/Trauma ICU for their kind, caring hearts and wonderful gentle touch they gave Robert and his family.
