Grant P. Gerhardt

Grant passed away Monday June 25, 2012 age 30 years.  He was born December 8, 1981 in Bay City.  Grant worked at Friday’s, Hooters and Famous Dave Restaurants.  He loved spending time with family and friends.  Grant enjoyed line dancing, fishing, working out and listening to country music.  He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church and was currently attending Delta College.

 

Surviving is his mother; Pamela (McGivern) and Gary Scharich, one sister; Courtney McGivern, a brother; Matti Jylha and his grandfather; Joseph McGivern Jr.  Also surviving are two aunts and a uncle; Nancy Mayhew, Laurie (Tom) Hudson, Joseph (Jennifer) McGivern III., special cousin; Nicole (Rick) Causley, special friend; Brendan Reed and many other cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his grandmother; Beatrice McGivern.

 

Funeral Service will take place Thursday June 28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Peoples Baptist Church.  Pastor Daniel R. Hester will officiate with burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 – 9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Peoples Baptist Church.

Lula T. Toporski (Wiescinski)

Lula Toporski died Sunday morning June 24, 2012 at Huron Woods Nursing Center age 92 years.  Daughter of the late Frank & Helen (Kowalski) Mindykowski she was born July 2, 1919 in Bay City.  She married Jerome H. Wiescinski April 13, 1940 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  He predeceased her October of 1971.  She then married Stanley Toporski and he predeceased her.  Lula worked at Bay City Chevrolet early on and later retired from Goddeyne Hardware.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Rosary/Altar Society group # 6, Senior Citizens and the Daughters of Isabella.  Lula was an avid bowler who bowled to the age of 91.  She played city league softball for many years and was a devoted Detroit Lions and Tiger fan.

 

Surviving is a son and daughter in-law; Jerome (Ramona) Wiescinski, a daughter in-law; Pat Taporski, three grandchildren; Bridget (Floyd) Meyer II.,Babette (Jeff) Reisig, Suzette (Tom) Skrobecki, nine great-grandchildren; Kendall, Kayla, Kevin & Kirk Meyer, Karl, Tyler & Alec Reisig, Jarrod Mutch, Julia Skrobecki and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by an infant son; Daniel Wiescinski, a granddaughter; Deann Wiescinski, two brothers; Bill & Frank Mindykowski, four sisters; Helen Linkowski, Adeline Nadolski, Florence Buda and Bernadine Laskowski.

 

The family would like to thank the” Angels” at Huron Woods Nursing Center for the wonderful care given to their mother.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday June 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with private burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m.  Members of St. Stanislaus Rosary/Altar Society and the Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Irene Budzinski

Mrs. Budzinski passed away Monday June 18, 2012 at the McLaren Bay Region age 98 years.  Daughter of the late Thomas & Mary (Cichocki) Wisniewski she was born December 7, 1913 in Bay City.  She married Floyd Budzinski August 22, 1932 in St. Hyacinth Church.  He predeceased her March 3, 1988.  Irene was a life long member of St. Hyacinth Church, she was a member of the Rosary Society and the Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed working on picture puzzles, crotcheing and working in her flower garden.

 

Surviving are five children; Gerri Rinz, Mary Ann Cichocki, Thomas (Karen) Budzinski, William Budzinski, Richard (Kathryn) Budzinski, sixteen grandchildren; Cathie (Jim) Conlin, Michael Cichocki & Anita, Rick (Lori) Rinz, Lori (Jim) Trapp, Nancy (Mark) Suchodolski, Randy (Val) Cichocki, Debbie (Johnny) Love, Lisa Rinz, Joe (Laurie) Cichocki, Scott (Kerry) Cichocki, Kristin (Paul) Gaskin, Tracy Urban, Brent (Kim) Budzinski, Ryan Budzinski & Adreanne, Patrick (Susan) Budzinski, Amy (Jonathon) Avery, twenty seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and one due in November.  Also surviving is a brother in-law: Lyle Haggitt.  She was predeceased by two sons in-law; Robert Rinz, Ronald Cichocki, one great-grandson; Adam Cichocki, three sisters and six brothers; John, Regina, Thomas, Jane, Leo, Alexander, Marion, Joseph and Jean.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday June 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Hyacinth Church.  Rev. Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday after 9:00 a.m.  St. Hyacinth Rosary Society will pray the rosary at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Hyacinth Church.

Mary Joanne Niezurawski

     Joanne passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region, age 79.  She was born August 31, 1932 in Bay City to the late LeRoy “Tom” and Beatrice (Garcin) Payne.  She married Raymond J. Niezurawski in St. Joseph Church on May 1, 1954; he survives her.  Joanne was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing cards with her friends every month.  Joanne loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time sharing memories with them.

     Surviving besides her husband, Raymond, are four children: Mark (Karen) Niezurawski, Thomas (Jan) Niezurawski, Debbie (Willard) Butterfield and Diane (Ken) Hagen, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and special friends, Mary and Dan Krzyzaniak.  Joanne was predeceased by her aunt, Bernice Kelly.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Tim Krzyzaniak will celebrate Mass and private inurnment will be in St. Stanislaus Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the church only on Thursday from 9:00am until the time of Mass.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund. 

     Joanne’s family would like to give a heartfelt “thank you” to Joyce McIntosh for being a strong support for Joanne and being at her bedside over the past few weeks.

Armando S. Sepeda

     Our beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at Covenant-Harrison, age 66.  He was born November 20, 1945 in Dilley, Texas to the late Jesus and Concepcion (Santoya) Sepeda.  He married Rosita Oltivero in 1961; she predeceased him on March 25, 2010.  Armando retired in 2008 from Michigan Sugar after 40 years of dedicated service.  He enjoyed fishing, Mexican food and music.  He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and liked to tinker in his garage.  Armando loved spending time and share memories with his grandchildren and family. 

     Surviving are five children: Rudy (Carrie) Sepeda, Alma Gonzales, Aida (David) Quesada, Alamar (Jose) Sepeda-Munoz and Orlando (Jessica Clark) Sepeda, thirteen grandchildren: Gabriellia, Joaquin, Rosa (Joe), Emma, Tomas, Isabella, Michael, Anastasia, Thalia, Ramiro, Kaden, Bailey, Callie, one brother, Fileberto Sepeda, one sister, Audelia Lopez and Armando’s girlfriend, Beth Russell.  Armando was predeceased by two sisters, two brothers and his son in-law, Martin Gonzales.

     The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 18, 2012 at 6:30pm at Squires Funeral Home.  Sr. Gail Addis, IHM will officiate and private interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 6:30pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

Stanley F. “Stash” Grudzinski

     Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Evergreen Pines AFC, age 88.  He was born May 11, 1924 in Bay City to the late Joseph and Frances (Timm) Grudzinski.  Stanley married Nadeen K. Hugo; she predeceased him on April 11, 1996.  He was a veteran and served his country with the US Army.  He retired from St. Patrick Cemetery after many years of dedicated service.  He was a member of St. George Society and St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Stanley was a hard worker and enjoyed fishing, helping others and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Surviving are two children, Joseph (Kay) Grudzinski and Lee Ann (Richard) Martin, seven grandchildren: Jenna and Jade Grudzinski, Kevin (Michelle) Cliff, Kristy (Brent) Emler, Michael Leinberger, Travis (Kayla) Martin and Benjamin Martin, four great grandchildren: Ethan, Ava, Isaac, and Owen, three brothers: Daniel, Robert (Priscilla), and Ollie (Lorraine) Grudzinski, two brother in-laws: Harold (Margie) Hugo, Duane Hugo, many nieces and nephews.  Stanley was predeceased by four sisters: Mary, Bernice, Phoebe and Victoria.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Rick Filary will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Monday after 9:00am.  A Parish Vigil Service for Stash will be held Sunday at 7:00pm from the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Evergreen Pines AFC.

     The Grudzinski family would like to thank Sheri Young and all the staff at Evergreen Pines AFC for their kind and compassionate care they gave our dad and the entire family.
