Carolee Grace Youmans (Storace)

     Our loving mother, grandmother and sister passed at home with her family by her side, Monday, May 28, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer, age 69.  She was born August 22, 1942 in Detroit to the late Raoul D. and Grace J. (Stein) Storace.  Carolee married the love of her life Robert A. Youmans on March 2, 1964; he predeceased her on December 13, 2007.  She worked for ten years with an insurance company in their marketing department and later retired from Westchester Gardens Nursing Facility in Florida as their supervisor of housekeeping. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, bingo, cooking, winters in Florida, spending time with her five foster children and family.

     She is survived by three children: Sheri (Jarrett) Holmes, Robert R. Youmans and Judy Martin, adopted son, Joseph Youmans and four foster children: Vera, Ulzada, Julia, and Elizabeth Rains, seven grandchildren: Jeremy LeRoy, Jonathan (girlfriend, Katie) Black, Carol Anne Youmans, Zachary Martin, Samantha Martin, Juan and Miguel Rivera, two sisters, Judith and Nancy Storace and close friends, John Strawn and Lou Anderson.

     The Funeral Service will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11:00am at Ambrose Funeral Home.  Rev. McMillon will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and Monday after 10:00am.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Valerian “Val” Przygocki

Our loving father, grandfather, brother and a very proud veteran passed away on Memorial Day Monday May 28, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region surrounded by his family age 88 years.  Son of the late Anthony & Mary (Wozniak) Przygocki he was born July 7, 1923 in Bay City.  He married the former Mildred E. Galus June 25, 1949 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  She predeceased him May 24, 2009.  Val served our country in the U.S. Army as a Combat Medic where he was awarded the Bronze Star, Silver Star, 2 Purple Hearts, Presidential Unit Citation and France’s Croix DeGuere Unit Citation.  He is a member of the D.A.V., the Military Order of Purple Heart and the Texas 36th  Infantry Division.  In 2004 Val was honored by the Bay County Veteran’s Council as ” Veteran of the Year”.  He was awarded the Legion of Honor Chevalier, France’s highest medal for liberating France in World War II.  Val worked previously for Kuhlman Electric, American Hoist and later retired from Bay County United Way as a A.F.L.-C.I.O. Community Service Represenative.  Upon his retirement in 1985 Val was honored by Congressman Robert Traxler recorded in the US House of Represenative for his volunteerism in our community.  Mr. Przygocki nurtured his fruit trees and vegetable garden and hunted wildlife in Michigan.  If he didn’t get a rabbit he’d have a game pouch full of mushrooms.

 

Surviving are two children; Judith (Charles) Hayward of Shelby Twp. Michigan, David (Diane) Przygocki of Longmont, CO., five grandchildren; Christopher (Tara) Hayward, Charles Jr. (Miranda) Hayward, Jason Hayward, Lucas & Lauren Przygocki.  Also surviving are one brother and two sisters; Joseph Przygocki, Sr. Jane Przygocki, Elaine Hogan, three sisters in-law; Gladys, Dorothy and Kay Przygocki.  He was predeceased by four brothers; Phillip (Marian), Louis, Bernard & Charles Przygocki, one sister; Carrie (Frank) Stachowski and a brother in-law; Jim Hogan.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday June 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Rev. Fr. Rick Filary will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Friday from 2 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a vigil service for Val at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider United Way of Bay County or St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund.

Martin J. Willette “Mark”

Mark Willette passed away Saturday evening May 26, 2012 at the Bay Medical Care Facility surrounded by his family age 44 years.  Son of the late Joseph H. & Shirley L. (Ravencraft) Willette he was born November 16, 1967 in Bay City.  He married the former Robyn J. Smith and she survives him.  Mark enjoyed playing pool and playing cards.

 

Surviving besides his wife Robyn he leaves one son and two daughters; Brandon (Angie) Willette, Brianne Willette, Brooke Willette and two granddaughters; Shianne and Lyliana.  Also surviving is his father in-law and mother in-law; Ken & Margaret Smith, three sisters; Karen (Ken) Sylvester, Joanne (Wayne) Abram, Julie (Terry) Wilson, four half brothers and one half sister; Joseph (Janet), Robert, Brian (Lori), Virgil Willette, Penny Reed and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by a brother: Harold Coppinger.

 

Funeral Service will take place on Thursday May 31, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home.  Pastor Joe Atchinson will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 – 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

L.Z. Joseph Fournier

     Our loving husband, father and grandfather passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence, age 91.  He was born May 11, 1921 in Bay City to the late Napoleon and Tessie (Ammon) Fournier.  He married Bettie Jean Cosens in Visitation Catholic Church on October 28, 1944; she survives him.  Mr. Fournier was a tool and die maker at the Buick Transmission plant in Flint and retired in 1985 after many years of dedicated service.  He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison, MI.  Mr. Fournier enjoyed spending time with his family and was well liked by his friends and all who knew him.

     Surviving besides his wife, Bettie is two children: Cherie (Robert) Carter and Gary (Mary Ann) Fournier, five grandchildren: Paul, Brian (Jennifer) and Jill Carter, Matt (Stacy) and Jason Fournier, one great granddaughter, Claire Fournier.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10:00am at Visitation Catholic Church.  Fr. Steven Fillion will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Tuesday after 9:00am.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to a charity of donor’s choice.

     The Fournier family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all of dad’s caregivers, especially Joyce Yedniak, Lisa Hahn and Anna Adams for their kind and compassionate care they gave our loving father.

Fred Solmonson

Fred passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 23, 2012  age 67 years.  He was born February 1, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era and worked at General Motors of Saginaw for 30 years before retirng in 1999.  Fred married the former Betty Mindykowski July 16, 1982 in St. Joseph Church and she survives him.  He was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.  Fred enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and watching and listening to the Detroit Tigers.

 

Surviving besides his wife Betty he leaves two children; Kurt (Jill) Solmonson, Lindsey Solmonson & her fiance Jason Castaneda.  Also surviving is his mother; May Solmonson, one sister; Diana Meyers (Tom Barr), a brother; Gary Solmonson (Helen Lentner) and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his father; Irving Solmonson.

 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00 from St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.  Rev. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate with private burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Monday from 5 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Parkinson Foundation or St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church.

Gregory Paul Lanczak

Greg passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his mother’s home age 33 years.  He was born July 6, 1978 in Bay City.  He served in the U.S. Navy.  Greg enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, cooking especially barbecuing and spending time with his family and friends.

 

Surviving is his mother; Debra (Sisson) Lanczak, two brothers and two sisters; Kirt, Brent, Lisa and Lindsey Lanczak.   Also surviving is his grandparents; James & Thelma Gregory, his nieces and nephews; Kamren, Landon, Brooklyn Lanczak and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He was predeceased by his father; Paul G. Lanczak and his grandparents; Steve & Dorothy Lanczak.

 

A Celebration of Greg’s life will take place with visitation on Thursday May 24, 2012 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Squires Funeral Home followed by military honors by the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Those planning an expession of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.
