Ken passed away Friday, September 30, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 90. Ken was a kind man, who enjoyed people. He was a pleasure to be around. He was an Identical twin, and his brother passed away 22 years ago. They were born in South Lyons, MI to the late Vera (Carroll) and Claude Ritter. Ken served in the US Army during WWII from 1943-1945 in Italy. He retired from Oldsmobile in Lansing on June 1, 1989, after almost 48 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed retirement in the North Country (Kalkaska area) but did some work for Voice Motors when he missed working.
He is survived by his wife Pat, children: Sharyn of Kentucky, Cathy (Bob) of Grayling, Karia (Jon) of Laingsburg, Terry (Amy) of Manchester, MI, Karen of San Antonio, Texas, step-children: Larry (Peg), Terry (Laura), Kern (Amelia), one brother, Gene (Verlene) of Lansing, many grandchildren, one great grandchild, a son n law, Richard Leverette of San Antonio, who saved his life when he fell off a rubber raft in 2002, special brother in law, Michael (Chris) Rybak and many nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by sons: Mark, Tom and Denny.
The Funeral Service and Military Honors, under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council will be held Monday, October 3, 2011 at 1:00pm at St. Stanislaus Mausoleum. Linda Studniarz will officiate. No visitation will be held at the Ambrose Funeral Home.
