Timothy G. Mish, 58, beloved brother and uncle, died April 1, 2011, in the loving presence of his sister, brother, and sister-in-law at the Tacoma Lutheran Home. The cause was colon cancer.

Tim entered the world August 3, 1952, the youngest of Edward and Edna Mish’s three children. Although severe complications in childbirth threatened the life of both Tim and his mother, both survived to lead healthy, productive lives. Tim attended St. Boniface Elementary School, Handy High and Central Michigan University, where he earned a B.A. in psychology. After returning to school to study computer science in Cleveland, he worked briefly at Union Carbide there until he accepted a job offer from Boeing Aerospace in Washington state in 1979. In the course of his work as an NC programmer, he travelled to destinations as diverse as Detroit, Nashville, and Montreal and as far away as Spain and Germany.  He retired from Boeing in 2008.

Tim enjoyed golf, bowling, his extensive collection of rock music of the ‘60s and

‘70s, and especially our home-cooked family dinners.  His family will never forget his steady, comforting presence, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and his ability to take life as it comes without ever a complaint. All who saw him in the last months of his illness were struck by his inner strength in calmly facing the cancer ravaging his body. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his brother Charles (Clarissa) of Seattle, his sister Cynthia of Tacoma, nephews Will and Ben (Cathy) of Seattle, and grandnephews Andrew and Max.

Special thanks to the compassionate staff of Allenmore Hospital, the Franciscan Hospice, and the Tacoma Lutheran Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Boniface Church. Fr. Dale Orlik will celebrate Mass.
