 CadieuxPhoto2

Our loving and gregarious wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at home, 63 years young.  Cheryl was born May 12, 1947 in Bay City to the late Claude and Ida Isabelle (Stevig) Ancel.  She married Gary L. Cadieux on December 2, 1967; he survives her.

She was devoted to her family, especially her beautiful granddaughter, Kaylee or as Cheryl called her, “Special K.”
Surviving besides her husband Gary is a daughter, Colette Cadieux, one son, SSGT Jason Cadieux, granddaughter, Kaylee and two brothers: Roy (Claire) Ancel and Jay Ancel.

Cheryl was a real estate agent and properties manager for several years. In her past time, Cheryl loved to play Scrabble and compete in tournaments all across the United States. Cheryl AKA Stella started playing Scrabble in 1981. She was the creator of the online OSPD Scrabble List and the Stellar Report.

Cheryl was definitely known for having an “oversized” personality. If she was at a tournament you knew it by her laugh booming across the room. Many of friends tried to keep a straight face while watching Cheryl introduce herself to an unsuspecting opponent and mention, “I am new at this game.”  Players would laugh and shake their heads when Cheryl would say to the room at large, “When is somebody going to teach me how to track?”

Cheryl was a wonderful mother; laugh out loud funny, a very good sport, a terrific Scrabble player, and a great friend to so many.
A special thank you goes out to all of her dear friends in the Scrabble community for adding that extra special something to her life.

Per Cheryl’s request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

“Mom, you will be missed dearly and we love you six thousand.”
