The gates of heaven opened and a faithful servant spread his wings and traveled on his journey of a lifetime to the arms of his beloved wife and daughter. We lost a remarkable father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, cousin and friend in Stanley H. Kryszak, on February 22, 2011. There are no more seeds for you to sow, God has prepared a place for you to go. We will not say goodbye; ‘See you later’ will have to do. No one else can ever fill your shoes. You are our ‘world’; our ‘Rock’! We were blessed to have him for 94 years, born on August 9, 1916, along with a twin brother, Casmer, in Bay County to Anthony and Anna (Grocholski) Kryszak. He was a lifetime resident of Hampton Township, resided on the family farm, his life was devoted to his love for farming and providing a harvest for God’s people. Never was a man so devoted in faith, he gave all of himself in all that he did, his dedication and passion for helping others touched the lives of all who knew him, never expecting to be recognized for his good deeds. His family considers this to be one of his greatest blessings! This is who he was and what we are now. He was proud of his Polish heritage and loved to listen to polka music. Known best for his positive attitude and generous heart, soft spoken voice and giant hands that will hold the lives of those he loved forever. A talented storyteller and mentor, his offspring loved to listen to the stories of his life and the ‘good ole days’!
He served on the school board of the Nolet Country School for many years. He was proud to be a lifelong member of St. John Evangelist Church, Essexville, an honorary member of its Ushers Club for over seventy years, an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2740, B P O E Elks #88, and member of the League of Catholic Women and Men. He served on the Church Building Committee and many commissions within the parish. He was one of the founders and producers of the Hampton Township floodgates for water control of the Saginaw Bay to area farmers. He served on the Michigan Potato Industry Commission and the Michigan Sugar Beet Growers Association. His greatest passion in life was his family, enjoying the outdoors and spending time at his deer hunting cabin inAtlanta where he would often go “just for a ride”.
Stan married the love of his life on November 2, 1940, the former Charlotte Vos, who preceded him in death after 64 years of marriage. Together they were blessed with five children, four of whom survive him, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, daughter, Jean (Arnie) Nickel of Pinconning, Jerry (Alice), Jim (Carol) of Essexville and Randy of CO. His cherished grandchildren, Ron (Angela) Nickel, his godchild, Bonnie (Mike) Pinder, Brad (Kelly) Nickel, Brian (Nichole) Nickel, Kelli (Jim) Ivey, Kevin (Stacie) Kryszak, Dana (Patrick) Franzoi, Kayla, Keith and Kurt Kryszak, as well as 13 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Leona (Lawrence) Rytlewski, and sister-in-law Gladys Kryszak of Madison Heights; a very dear godchild, Shirley Howden, also many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Besides his wife, whom he cared for during her long illness, he was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Debbie Ann; grandson, Kim Kryszak; five brothers, Steve, Henry, Leo and Edward and twin brother, Casmer, five sisters, Cecelia, Virginia, Helen Kryszak, twin sisters, Blanche Rytlewski, and Theresa VanSumeren.
