Frances J. Culler

Frances was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday November 18, 2010 age 75 years.  Daughter of the late Albert & Mary (Michalsky) Tomczak she was born August 5, 1935 in Bay City.  Frances worked at Bay Medical Hospital for many years before retiring. 

 Surviving are nine children; Dale (Donna) Culler, Rickie (Janice) Culler, Gregory (Sheri) Culler, Rodney (Faith) Culler, Max Culler & his friend, Donna Sommerfield, Patti (Raymond) Wheeler, Cheryl (Andrew) Ledesma, Kathryn Culler, Mary Roque, twenty nine grandchildren, thirty seven great-grandchildren and one brother; Robert (Donna) Tomczak.  She was predeceased by a daughter; Karen Carson and a great-grandson Blake James Culler.

 A private graveside service will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donor’s favorite charity.

Leonard D. “Len” Wejsa

    wejsaphoto Len passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Brian’s House, age 77.  He was born September 17, 1933 in Bay City to the late John and Stella (Szczepanski) Wejsa.  During Len’s younger years, he was an outstanding athelete, especially football and basketball.  He was involved with the community Paint-n-Pride program for many years and was employed at First Presbyterian Church, American Hoist & Derrick, General Motors, Auto Lite, US Postal Service, Wellman Foundry, State Highway Department, Coca Cola and retired from the Bay City Times.  Len served two years in the US Army and enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and yard work.

     Surviving are three daughters: Debra (Neal) Prueter, Pamela (Gary) Richardson, and Sandra Wejsa, their mother, Joan Wejsa, nine grandchildren: Donat (Tricha) Ratell, Courtney (Dean) Spencer, Shay (fiancé, Jason Boyce) Luptowski, Samantha Prueter, Jay (Roxanne) Richardson, James (Tiffany) Kozlowski, Robert Richardson, Joshua and Melissa Dishaw, eleven great grandchildren, two sisters, Caroline Hebert and Verne Craig, one brother, Louis Wejsa, one sister in-law, Adeline Wejsa, one brother in-law, Robert Hoppe, close friend, Dick Socia and good neighbor, Tome.  Len was predeceased by his son, Jeff Wejsa, two brothers: Stanley and Edward Wejsa, three sisters: Irene Brug, Dorothy (Marshall) Davison and Cecile Hoppe, one brother in-law, Leo Hebert and one sister in-law, Dorothy Wejsa.

     Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian’s House or the American Cancer Society.

Virginia Clare Timm

     Virginia passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Heartland-Hampton, age 84.  She was born December 28, 1925 in Bay City to the late Stanley J. and Agnes C. (Kurlinski) Timm.  She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and the Rosary/Altar Sodality.

     Surviving are two brothers: Raymond S. and Daniel S. Timm, one sister, Lorraine T. McDonough and many nieces and nephews.  Virginia was predeceased by three brothers: Arnold, Edward, and Richard (Christine) Timm, two sisters:  Sr. Marie Elegia, OP and Sr. Maria Dulcis, CSSF, two sister in-laws: Rita and Julia “Dolly” Timm and a brother in-law, John McDonough.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 19, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Richard Filary will celebrate Mass and entombment will follow in St. Patrick Mausoleum.  Friends may call at St. Stanislaus Church on Friday from 9:00am until the time of Mass.  No visitation hours will be at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund, Heartland Hospice or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

     Virginia’s sister, Lorraine, would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Heartland-Hampton for 19 years of exceptional care, kind and loving hearts, and the many friendships you gave Virginia.  It was truly “home” for her.

Irene S. Witucki

Mrs. Witucki died Monday November 15, 2010 at the Bay Medical Care Facility age 85 years.  Daughter of the late Anthony & Stella (Trojanowicz) Markiecki she was born April 28, 1925 in Bay City.  She married Virgil G. Witucki August 24, 1946 in St. Hyacinth Church.  He predeceased her June 27, 2002.  Irene was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, Rosary Society and the Altar Society.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and going to bingos.

 Surviving are two sons; Gary (Audrey) Witucki, Robert (Christine) Witucki, four grandchildren; Kathryn Witucki and her husband Brian Mitchell, Dana Witucki and her husband Mark Heysell, Stacey (Nick) Shinkel and Patrick Witucki.  She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister; Bill & Eugene Markiecki and Leona Nalazek.

 Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday November 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Hyacinth Church.  Rev. Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Irene at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Jeanne M. Gielda

Mrs. Gielda passed away Monday November 8, 2010 at the Bay Regional Medical Center age 70 years.  Daughter of the late Eldon & Mary (Sella) Norrington she was born July 10, 1940 in Bay City.  She married Michael Gielda.  He predeceased her in February 3, 1999.  Jeanne worked at Normans for over 25 years before retiring.  She was a member of St. James Church and loved to go fishing.

 Surviving are three children; Gregory, Kimberly & David Gielda, five grandchildren; Alexander & Shaun Oldfield, Kaleigh, Sheridan & Austin Gielda, one great-grandson; Ethan Schwanke and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one sister; Carolyn White.

 Funeral Service will take place Wednesday November 10, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Pastoral Associate Linda Milco will officiate with private burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 – 8 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Susan G. George E. Klosowski

     klosowskiphotoMr. Klosowski, age 85 passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Bay Medical Care Facility with his family by his side.  George was born January 29, 1925 in Bay City to the late Edmund and Mary (Kusmicz) Klosowski.  He married Virginia E. Wongrowski in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on September 29, 1945 and she survives him.  He was a machine operator for over 29 years at Bay City Chevrolet until his retirement in 1987.  George was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the League of Catholic Women & Men and UAW Local #362 retirees.  He was a professional recycler, “junk picker” and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

     Surviving besides his wife, Virginia, are three children: Joyce (fiancé, Dave LaMay) Lijewski, Ronald (Cindy) Klosowski and Paul (Judy) Klosowski, seventeen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a daughter in-law, Beth Klosowski, one half-brother, Richard (Yvonne) Koblinski, one sister in-law, Delores (Ron) Trombley, one brother in-law, Joe (Romaine) Wongrowski and a special family friend, Guy Herek.  George was predeceased by a son, Joseph Klosowski.

     Cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service for George will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 7:00pm at Squires Funeral Home.  Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”
