Kathryn R. Everson

 Mrs. Everson passed away early Saturday morning October 30, 2010 at the Bay Regional Medical Center age 88 years.  She was born July 29, 1922 in Bay City.  Kathryn married Darcy Everson in 1941.  He predeceased her in 1972.  Mrs. Everson worked at Consumer Powers before retiring.  She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the American Business Women’s Association.

 Surviving are three children; Thomas (Vickie) Everson, Richard (Connie) Everson, Marybeth (Robert) Myers, six grandchildren; Todd, Sarah, Marc & Matthew Everson, Jonathan (Lynn) Everson, Krista Myers, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by one brother; Robert DeCourcy.

 Funeral service will take place Tuesday November 2, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from Westminster Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Matthew Schramm will officiate with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Walter S. Musielak

 Mr. Musielak passed away Friday October 29, 2010 at Brian’s House age 86 years.  Son of the late Stanley & Mary (Malowinski) Musielak he was born May 16, 1924 in Bay City.  He married the former Patricia R. Cwiklinski August 31, 1957 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and has celebrated over 53 years of marriage.  She survives him.   Walt served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Bay City Public School System after many years of service.  Mr. Musielak was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Senior Citizens, League of Catholic Women and Men and the American Legion Post # 18.  Walt loved to bowl and visit the casinos.

 Surviving besides his wife Patricia he leaves two daughters; Sandra Gwitt, Shirley Storey, four grandchildren; Patrick (MaryAnn) Scorey, Michael (Paula) Scorey, Jennifer (Dustin) Wagner, Stacey Rodriguez and eight great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are two special friends; Dan Frieders, Larry Pretzer and his “Herem”; Ellie, Nancy, Gerry, Marge and Edith.  He was predeceased by six sisters and one brother.

 A special thanks to Home Hospice, Dr. Cook, Dr. Raza, Jim Knight and the 3rd floor Nurses at Bay Regional Medical Center for the wonderful care that was given to Walt.

 Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday November 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Christian F. Tabares will officiate with entombment in St. Patrick Mausoleum under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the church only on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Stanislaus Parish Campus Fund or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Cheryl A. Dorion (Wachowski)

     Cheryl passed away Friday, October 29, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 53.  She was born November 25, 1956 in Bay City to the late Daniel and Betty (Talaga) Wachowski. 

     Surviving is her husband, Patrick H. Dorion, two daughters: Jennifer Schatzer and Tiffany Dorion, five grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Nathan, Michael, Jacob and Haleigh, three sisters: Cindy (Dennis) Diamond, Carolyn (Rocky) Bublitz, Caren (Chris) Thomas, and two brothers: Chris (Janice) Wachowski and Tim Wachowski.

     Cheryl’s family will gather with friends Monday, November 1, 2010 at Ambrose Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00pm.  No funeral services are scheduled.

    falaszphoto Mr. Falasz passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Brian’s House, age 80.  He was born March 16, 1930 in Bay City to the late Stanley and Regina (Kukla) Falasz.  He married Glenda E. Main and she survives him.  Gerald was a cabinet maker all his life and enjoyed watching Major League Baseball.  He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, the International Brotherhood of Woodworkers Union and the Midland Gun Club. 

     Surviving is his wife, Glenda, four children: Thomas (Mary) Falasz, Jayne Falasz, Nancy (Randy) Taylor, and Andrew Falasz seven step-children: Marcia Klie, James (Sue) Stevens, Michael Stevens, Vicky (Tim) Scott, Russell (Tammy) Stevens, Raymond (Rose) Stevens, and Mary JoAnne (Shawn) Chamberlain, many grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and one sister, Evelyn Smerdon.  Gerald was predeceased by a granddaughter, Holly Falasz and a brother in-law, Jerry Smerdon. 

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will celebrate Mass and private interment will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church Wednesday after 9:00am.  A Parish Vigil Service for Gerald will be held Tuesday at 6:30pm at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian’s House or the American Heart Association.

 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away peacefully Sunday, October 17, 2010 with her family at her side.  Evelyn was born January 31, 1911 in Bay City to Henry & Josephine (Jakubiak) Dolsen.

 Surviving is one daughter; Gloria (Jean) Gruszczynski of Okemos, MI., two sons; Edmund Jr. (Arlene) Gruszczynski of Bay City and John (Jack) Gruszczynski of LaGrande, OR.  Also surviving are four granddaughters; Cheryl Trepkowski, Debbie (Alan) Jakubczak, Wendy Gruszczynski and Mary Ann Holihan.  Grandma Evelyn’s great-grandchildren are Scott Trepkowski, Katie Trepkowski, Taylor Jakubczak, Kevin Jakubczak, James (Jimmy) Nicoson III and Melanie Holihan.  Evelyn’s husband, Edmund (Perry) Gruszczynski Sr., passed away July 2, 1970.  She was also predeceased by two sisters; Dorothy Skibinski and Virginia Brown and one brother; Raymond Dolsen.

 Evelyn retired from the Prestolite Corporation.  She also worked part-time for the Wenonah Hotel and the Bay City Country Club.  She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, Senior Citizens and the UAW Local #362 retirees.  Evelyn loved her home and family.  No matter where she went, she would always say upon entering her house, “There’s no place like home.”

 A prayer service will held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday October 21, 2010 at the Ambrose Funeral Home followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. from St. Hyacinth Church.  Rev. Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Evelyn at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Hyacinth Improvement Fund.

James H. Gregg

 Mr. Gregg passed away Saturday October 16, 2010 at the Medilodge of Sterling age 81 years.  Son of the late Marvin & Edith (Smith) Gregg was born May 6, 1929 in Mikado, Michigan.  He married the former Margaret Revette August 21, 1954.  She survives him.  Mr. Gregg worked for GM Nodular Iron in Saginaw for thirty two and a half years before retiring.  Jim served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the D.A.V. Robert King Jr. Chapter #9 and the Military Order Purple Heart Michigan Chapter #514.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church.  Jim was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.  He loved to travel, go camping, snowmobiling, four wheeling, ice fishing and especially going hunting.

 Surviving besides his wife Margaret, he leaves four children; Randall (Karen) Gregg of Bay City, Leeann (Safie) Mirsafavi, of Laguna Hills, California, Doreen (Gary) Howard, of Okemos, Danny (Jennifer) Gregg, of Magnolia, Texas and six grandchildren; Nina & Rustin Mirsafavi, Courtney & Alyssa Howard, Lauren & Amanda Gregg.  He was predeceased by one brother; Donald Gregg and his mother in-law and father in-law; Walter & Viola (Schisler) Revette.

 Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday October 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church.  Rev. Fr. Stephen J.  Fillion will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 -8 p.m.  There will be a parish vigil service for Jim at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday from the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Visitation Church or Medilodge of Sterling.
