Donna Mary Hibbler

Bay City, Michigan

 Our precious mom and best friend went to join her son in heaven on August 26 at Brian’s House.  Donna was born February 19, 1933 to the late Mildred and Levi White. She was united in marriage in 1977 to the late Joseph Hibbler.  Donna worked for Peoples National Bank for 25 years and later retired from Chemical Bank of Midland.  Donna enjoyed trips to the casino, playing the lotto and taking care of her furry children.

 Mourning the loss of their dear mom is Leah Hibbler of Portland, OR., Michelle (Roland) Davis of Zilwaukee and Andrea (Tim) Hitz of Bay City.  Donna is also survived by 6 grandchildren; Nicole & Shane Bell, Lee & Marshall Davis, Amanda Hibbler and her special buddy; Hollie Hitz.  Also surviving are two great-grandchildren; Calvin & Ethan Hibbler and her brother; Stewart White.  Mom’s fury babies will also miss her very much; Billy Jo, Cricket and Tina.  They will never forget the love they shared with their mama.  She was predeceased by a son; Charles Hibbler, two sisters; Leah White, (best friend) Isabelle McVannell and her brother; Red White.

 Special thanks to Brian’s House, especially Dr. Parmer, Mary Jane, Linda and Lori for the extraordinary love and compassion showed to our mom. 

 Fly free mom.  We will meet again.  Thank you for being my best friend.  It was an honor.

 A private family service will take place at a later date.  Memorial may be directed to the Bay County Humane Society.

Christina Pappas

 Our loving sister and aunt passed away Sunday August 22, 2010 at the Bay Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family age 76.  Daughter of the late Pete & Fotini (Karanasios) Pappas she was born January 16, 1934 in Bay City.  Christina retired as a Travel Agent.  She was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Saginaw.

 Surviving is one sister; Maria P. Paron, four nieces; Tina Schoenherr, Eleni Rzadko, Fotini Hurley, Katina Paron and several great nieces and nephews.

 Funeral service will take place Thursday August 26, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church of Saginaw.  Rev. Fr. Irenaeus Cox will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 – 7 p.m. and at the church after 9:00 a.m.  There will be a Trisagion Service at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday from the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.

William J. Sargeson Jr.

 Mr. Sargeson passed away early Saturday morning August 21, 2010 at Brian’s House age 61 years.  He was born September 15, 1948 in Bay City.

 Surviving are two daughters; Julie Sargeson, Stacey (Eric) Rohrer, two grandchildren, his parents; William & Shirley (Wazny) Sargeson and one brother; Randy (Sue) Sargeson.

 Cremation has taken place and their will be no visitation at the funeral home.

James R. Szczepanski

    szczepanskiphoto Our loving husband, father and brother passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Brian’s House, age 76.  He was born October 1, 1933 in Bay City to the late Walter S. and Mary (Franskowiak) Szczepanski.  Jim married Mary Edith O’Connor on June 1, 1957 and she survives him.  He was a veteran and served his country with the US Marine Corps.  He retired from Saginaw Steering Gear on March 1, 1993 and was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.

     Surviving is his wife, Mary Edith, one daughter, Helen and Ron Varner, one brother, Walter (Jane) Szczepanski, one sister, Jean (Ralph) Wesolowski, several nieces and nephews.  Jim was predeceased by a sister, Germaine (Raymond) Witucki and a brother, Thomas Szczepanski.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 10:30am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. Christian Tabares will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Thursday after 9:30am.  A Parish Vigil Service for Jim will be held Wednesday at 7:00pm from the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Stanislaus Campus Development Fund.

     The family would like to thank Dr. Harmohan Kochar and the staff at Brian’s House for the wonderful care that was given to Jim and his family.

Lucille Hannah Miller

     Imgp0127Lucille passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010 at her home with her family by her side, age 90.  She was born March 20, 1920 in Bay City to the late Forbey and Ida (Beyer) Scott.  She married Herman Miller and he predeceased her on January 8, 1980.  Lucille was employed with Mercy Hospital and later retired from Prestolite after 35 years of dedicated service.  She was a life member of the Moose 367 and enjoyed bowling and bingo.

     Surviving are two children; Linda (fiancé, John Butler) Manyen and Ruth Ann Mendoza, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her favorite niece, Becky Scott.  Lucille was predeceased by her son, John Miller, two grandsons, Jeffrey Kihn and Mikeal Manyen, two brothers, Robert and Lyle Scott, one sister, Dorothy Smith and a son in-law, Cel Mendoza.

     The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:00am at Squires Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and Tuesday after 10:00am.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Grace Hospice.

     The Miller family would like to thank Grace Hospice for their prompt, kind and compassionate care they gave Lucille and her family.

John P. Duranczyk

     duranczykphotoMr. Duranczyk, age 93, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side.  He is survived by 6 children:  Mary Ann Traxler (Curt), Ann Marie Strickler (Gary), John T. Duranczyk (Angie Ridenour), Anthony Duranczyk (Kay), Theresa Duquette, Bernadette Lewis (Larry), 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ann and second wife Thelma. He was devoted to St. Hyacinth Catholic Church as an usher, and was retired from Kuhlman Electric and American Hoist.  He is the light of our lives and our greatest hero. 

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Edward J. Konieczka will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Wednesday after 9:00am.  A Parish Vigil Service for John will be held Tuesday at 5:30pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests memorial donations to be made to Hospice Advantage. 

     Our sincere thanks to the staff at Hospice Advantage for their outstanding and compassionate care they gave our father and PaPa.
