griffinphotoMr. Griffin passed away Sunday June 27, 2010 at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center age 60 years.  He was born June 29, 1949 in Bay City.  Mr. Griffin served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.


Surviving are his four children; Karen Lowery, Christopher (Hiroko) Griffin, Vanessa Bliss, Versia (Dennis) Griffin-Baker, twelve grandchildren; Reginal Griffin, Orentheus & Myra Lowery, Charles & William Griffin, Junior Brinson, Jay Griffin, Yalonda Brinson, Dante Griffin, Denitra & James Brinson and Jomar Griffin.  Also surviving is his mother; Dorothy Gamble, his father; Charlie (Lynn) Bassette, two brothers; John (Marchelle) Parker, Charlie Bassette Jr. and a aunt; Kathleen Griffin.  He was predeceased by his grandmother; Rosie Lee Griffin.


Funeral service will take place Friday July 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. from 2nd Baptist Church.  Pastor Seth Doyle will officiate and Pastor John Davis will do the eulogy with burial in Elm Lawn Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday after 12 noon.  There will be a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Alberta E. “Bert” Burzynski

      burzynskiphotoBert passed away June 28, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 84.  She was born April 23, 1926 in Bay City to the late Thomas and Agnes (Krawczyk) Wesolowski.  She married Benjamin J. Burzynski in St. Hyacinth Church on June 5, 1954 and he predeceased her on March 9, 2005.  Bert retired from Nationals and later Kroger Food Company after 40 years of dedicated service.  She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and the Rosary Society.  She also volunteered at St. Hyacinth Grade School and Holy Family Middle School as a “noon lunch mother.”

     Surviving is a son, Joe Burzynski, one granddaughter, Heather Burzynski, two brothers; Ralph (Eugenia) and James (Audrey) Wesolowski, two sisters; Rita Luczak and Henrietta Petoskey, four sisters in-law; Geraldine Weslowski, Eleanore Wesolowski, Evarista Gordon, Mary Kato, a brother in-law, Leonard (Aileen) Burzynski, many nieces and nephews.  Bert was predeceased by two brothers; Marion Weslowski and Adrian Wesolowski, sisters and brothers in-law; Sarah (Ben) Tomczak, John Kato, Katherine Kujawa, Delphine (Carl) Kujawa, Edith (Vincent) Tomczak, Charles Gordon, Walton Petoskey and Ray Luczak.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 1, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Hyacinth Church.  Fr. Dale Orlik will celebrate Mass.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 to 8:00pm and at church Thursday after 9:00am.  Members of St. Hyacinth Rosary Society will pray the Rosary Wednesday at 2:00pm.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society, St. Hyacinth Church Renovation Fund or “Family Wishes.”

     Joe would like to send a special thank you message to Dr. Boike, Dr. Raza and all the staff at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center for their kind, comforting words and delicate care they extended to his mother.

      goldnerphotoKaren Anne Goldner passed away 18 June 2010 after a long and heartbreaking life. She awaits the Lord Jesus after passing at The Lutheran Home in Frankenmuth, Michigan while in Hospice care with Lutheran Home Care Agency. Born, 5 January 1953 in Franklin County, Ohio.  Daughter of Dr. Richard D. Goldner and Elizabeth Anne Goldner. Grew up in the Birch Run Area, attended Birch Run Area Schools.  Excellent student, musically talented and painted well. Preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth and brother, Don Goldner. Karen’s survived by her father, Richard, her sister, Gayle L. Goldner White, brother Dan Goldner, brother in law-lee White ( Karen’s cowboy lee), nephew, lee Daniel White and niece, Katelyn Dykes. Rest in peace dear sister, your hell on earth is over we will see you again when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for us.

Frank F. Rozewski

 Mr. Rozewski died Monday June 21, 2010 at the Bay Regional Medical Center age 93 years.  Son of the late Michael & Zofia “Sophie” ( Tietruszewski)  Rozewski he was born February 8, 1917 in Bay City.  Mr. Rozewski served in the U.S. Army.  Frank worked for Woodcraft early on and later retired from Bay City Chevrolet after many years of service.  Frank was a member of St. George Society and Pulaski Hall.  He was a former member of St. Stanislaus Church and enjoyed fishing and traveling.

 Surviving is a sister in-law; Loretta Rozewski and several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is Frank’s extended family; Sandra Hartwig, Janet Stothard and their children; William II. (Lisa) Hartwig, Heather Hartwig & Robert Moszyk, Kyle Hartwig & his fiancé Aubrey Retlewski, Ryan (Ashley) Stothard, Melissa Stothard & Phillip Smallwood and 9 extended great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two sisters and seven brothers; Mary “Marie” Wittbrodt, Helen Bundy, Aloysius “Alex”, Joseph, Floyd, Leo, Wallace, Stanley and John Rozewski.

 Funeral Service will take place Thursday June 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Sr. Mary Epple R.S.M. will officiate with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery under the auspices of the Bay County Veteran’s Council.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Randy J. VanDriessche

      vandriesschephotoOur beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010 in a farming accident, age 52.  He was born August 21, 1957 in Bay City to the late Albert and Germaine (Powers) VanDriessche.  Randy married Susan L. Williams in St. Boniface Church on September 8, 1979, she survives him.  He was a farmer all of his life and had been employed with Pepsi Cola for 32 years.  He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and enjoyed being outdoors and hunting in the Upper Peninsula.  Randy’s family meant the world to him. 

     Surviving besides his loving wife, Sue, are three daughters; Kimberly (Peter) Danielski, Kristy and Kathleen VanDriessche, a granddaughter, Madison Grace, one brother, Gary (Jane) VanDriessche, two sisters; Darlene (Ted) Jezewski and Sharon (David) Schabel, nieces and nephews; Cindy (Jeff) VanSumeren, David (Allison) VanDriessche, Renee (Aron) Petrosky, Brad (Jamey) Jezewski, Kerri (Dave) Haugh, Scott (Stacey) Schabel, Brian (Sarah) Schabel, Jason (Heather) Schabel, Karen (Chad) Kilbourn, aunts and uncles; Henry (Jane) Hribek, Mary Powers, and Blanche Ciesla, Randy’s mother in-law, Connie Williams, and two brother in-laws; Robert (Darla) Williams and Eric (Lisa) Williams.  Randy was predeceased by his father in-law, James Williams.

     The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 10:00am at St. James Catholic Church.  Fr. Robert DeLand will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Thursday after 9:00am.  A Parish Vigil Service for Randy will be held Wednesday at 5:00pm at the funeral home.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

David G. King

     Mr. King passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Bay Regional Medical Center, age 71.  He was born February 10, 1939 in Gladwin, Michigan to the late George R. and Beatrice M. (Rayner) King. 

     David is survived by a brother, Billy D. (Diane) King.  Cremation has taken place.  No visitation or services will take place.
