Henrietta “Hank” Wilinski

Mrs. Wilinski passed away Monday morning June 29, 2009 at the Bay Regional Medical Center age 86 years.  Daughter of the late Jack & Emily (Wachowicz) Symkowiak she was born March 5, 1923 in Bay City.  She married Frank “Art” Wilinski.  He predeceased her in 1969.  Mrs. Wilinski worked at Bay Medical Center and later at the St. Vincent DePaul Store.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and the Rosary/Altar Sodality group #7. Hank enjoyed spending time with her family activities, working in the yard and putting together puzzles.

Surviving is a daughter; Audrey (Gerry) Moszyk, a daughter in-law; Pat Wilinski, three grandchildren; Robert & Brenda Moszyk, Jason (Kristie) Wilinski and one great-grandson; Nathan Moszyk.  Also surviving are two sisters in-law; Lois & Jane Symkowiak and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son: Alan Wilinski, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday July 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the church only on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass.  St. Stan’s Rosary/Altar Sodality will pray the rosary at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at church.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Marvel C. Satkowiak

Mrs. Satkowiak died Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Bay Regional Medical Center age 72 years.  She was born March 8, 1937 in Bay City. She married Stanley Satkowiak April 13, 1955 and he survives her. Mrs. Satkowiak enjoyed knitting and going fishing.
Surviving besides her husband Stanley she leaves three children: Mark (Tammy) Satkowiak, Martin Satkowiak, Kerry Satkowiak a son-in-law Greg Van Driessche; and seven grandchildren; also surviving is her mother Jeannette (Finkbeiner) Green, 3 sisters: Patricia (Ernie) Rytlewski, Jackie (Tom) Lynch, Julie ( Mike) Dezelsky. She was predeceased by her father Louis Green, a daughter Becky Van Driessche, a daughter in law Christine Satkowiak and one sister and one brother Marjorie Goodwin and Louis Green Jr.
Funeral service will take place Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday after 10 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider family wishes.

Bernadine A. “Betty” Pabich (Kurlinski)

The divine light of God came this day, June 26, 2009 and took our beloved mother.  Betty was born April 16, 1918 in Bay City to the late Andrew and Antonia (Wlodarczak) Kulinski.  She married Leonard J. Pabich in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church on March 30, 1940 and he predeceased her on October 15, 1990.  She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.
Surviving are her three daughters; Carolyn, Rosemary and Maureen Pabich, her grandchildren; Greg, David Abraham and Laini Jackson, great grandchildren; Ava Jackson and Chase Abraham.  Betty was predeceased by her son, Gary in April of 1975, three sisters; Eva Tesner, Luella Starr and Pricilla Kurlinski and two brothers; Norbert and Myron Kurlinski.
The Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Monday, June 29, 2009 at 9:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Fr. William J. Rutkowski will celebrate Mass.  Friends may call at the church only on Monday from 8:00am until the time of Mass.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to “Family Wishes.”

Betty’s family would like to extended a heartfelt thank you to all the nursing staff on the 3rd and 4th floor at Bay Regional Medical Center.

Gertrude A. Scherzer

Mrs. Scherzer passed away at the age of 87 on Friday June 26, 2009 at the Bay Regional Medical Center.  Daughter of the late Albert F. & Valeta M. (Turmell) Moore she was born January 16, 1922 in Pinconning, Michigan.  She married Walter Scherzer and he predeceased her in 1981.  Gertrude loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, taking trips to her cabin and crocheting.

Surviving are four sons; Don (Dorothy), Roger (Jennifer), William, Gary (Jill) Scherzer, twelve grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.  Also surviving are many special nieces, nephews and a dear friend: Paula Phillips.  She was predeceased by a son: Walt Jr., a granddaughter: Emily Ricklefs and a grandson: Jeff Sylvester.

Funeral service will take place Tuesday June 30, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from the Squires Funeral Home with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2 – 8 p.m. and on Tuesday after 12 noon.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Brian’s House.

Edwin J. “Sobbie” Sobczak

Edwin J. SobczakMr. Sobczak passed away Tuesday June 23, 2009 at the Bay Regional Medical Center age 90 years.  Son of the late John & Josephine (Gorney) Sobczak he was born September 22, 1918 in Bay City.  He married the former Genevieve M. “Nefa” Lukowski August 17, 1946 in St. Stanislaus Church.  She predeceased him July 24, 2000.  Mr. Sobczak worked for Wald Dairy and later for Michigan Beer Distributor where he retired from Auto City Distributors in 1981.  Edwin was a life member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church where he sang in the Chopin Choral Society.  He was a member of St. Stan’s Senior Citizens, St. George Society and the K of C St. Stephen Council # 4102.  Edwin enjoyed softball, basketball and bowling.  He was league secretary for bowling, past board member of St. Stan’s A.C. and Secretery/Treasurer for the Brewery Workers Local # 176.  Sobbie was a avid Tigers, Red Wings and Atlanta Braves fan.

Surviving are two sons; Ronald E. Sobczak, Michael J. (Carol) Sobczak, two grandchildren; Katie and Melanie Sobczak.  Also surviving are brothers in-law and sisters in-law; Gordon (Dolores) Bock, Mendell (Betty) Cole, Geraldine Lukowski, Tina Tomaszewski and William Roach.  He was predeceased by three sisters; Angeline (Robert) Urban, Loretta (Paul) Robertson, Eleanor (Jerry) Cleary, brothers in-law and sisters in-law; Lawerence (Bonnie) Lukowski, Virgil Lukowski, Al Tomszewski and Maxine Roach.

A large thank you to Pine Ridge AFC for two years of wonderful service and help with a special recognition to Jason and Lori.  Ed’s family will always be grateful.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday June 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Kostka Church.  Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 – 9 p.m. and at the church on Friday after 9:00 a.m.  St. Stanislaus Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 2:00 p.m. Thursday followed by a parish vigil service for Edwin and a K of C Bible Presentation at 7:00 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Stanislaus Campaign Development Fund.

Yvonne M. Valley (Harris)

Ms. Valley, age 64 passed away early Saturday, June 20, 2009.  The daughter of the late Robert E. and Myrna M. (Schmitz) Harris was born April 22, 1945 in Bay City.  She married Ernest T. Valley, Jr and he predeceased her in 1994.  Yvonne loved gardening, reading, crochet and traveling.  She retired from the Bay County Library System.
Surviving are five children; Robert (April) Greenhoe, Cynthia Ostrom (Richard) Schneider, Patrick (Claudette) Greenhoe, Kimberley (David) Pruder, and Richard (Ann) Greenhoe, ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, her step-father, John Kuflewski, one sister, Roberta (Douglas) Watson, one brother in-law, Wayne Bourdage, many nieces and nephews.  Yvonne was predeceased by two sisters; Paulette (Ron) Schmoak and Susan Bourdage and by the children’s father, John Rex Greenhoe.

The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 1:00pm at the Ambrose Funeral Home.  Nancy Rivet will officiate and graveside inurnment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00am until the time of service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Bay County Library System.
